If you visit Oban you simply must visit Room 9 for the best dining experience in the town by far. The cooking displays a sure touch with flavours, textures and presentation. Thankfully there is a small menu that is supplemented by a good range of different specials on a daily basis. Any delays are likely to be because someone is actually cooking your food with great care and no little passion, well worth waiting for. As if this wasn't enough to entice you in the service displays everything that the highlands so often in the past lacked. That is, it is very friendly, professional and attentive. This is achieved in an unfussy manner that results in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Being local to the area in a selfish way I should avoid presenting this review as I may end up not being able to get a table, and that would be a tragedy! Scottish tourism would boom if every town had a Room 9.
