If you visit Oban you simply must visit Room 9 for the best dining experience in the town by far. The cooking displays a sure touch with flavours, textures and presentation. Thankfully there is a small menu that is supplemented by a good range of different specials on a daily basis. Any delays are likely to be because someone is actually cooking your food with great care and no little passion, well worth waiting for. As if this wasn't enough to entice you in the service displays everything that the highlands so often in the past lacked. That is, it is very friendly, professional and attentive. This is achieved in an unfussy manner that results in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Being local to the area in a selfish way I should avoid presenting this review as I may end up not being able to get a table, and that would be a tragedy! Scottish tourism would boom if every town had a Room 9.

Don't miss this small restaurant, just off the main street. We both had a lovely meal on a quiet Monday evening. Friendly service and the scallops were great! Will definitely return when we are back in Oban.

We stumbled across this as we visited Oban during our Scotland stay. It's a small cafe restaurant and there was no other guests except us (my husband and 4 year old). Service was fantastic and the food was lovely... especially the caramelised banana dessert! Natalie was wonderful with our daughter and kept her entertained throughout! I'd definitely recommend this place!

Been here under previous guise (cafe) & happy to say its much improved as a nice wee restaurant tucked up side street in Oban. Brilliant food & great informal/friendly service.

Friendly staff providing attentive service, enticing menu, truly great food - a little gem just off the main street in Oban.

Small - and often booked up - so worth calling or going early (we arrived at 6pm and got a table - they were full from 7.30)
