What a lovely break we had at the Argyll. Relaxed atmosphere and very comfortable. Spacious room with a lovely view of the Loch. Staff were great. Food was excellent. All in all a fabulous overnight stay. Thank you, Argyll!

Room Tip: Room 104, triple room (double & single) with a lovely view.

Stayed here for the September weekend. First time in Inverary & thought the place was lovely. We had room 212 which is the 4-poster featured on their website & was very pleased with it. Spotlessly clean & quite large. The public areas are a bit tired but it didn't spoil things for us at all. Breakfast was excellent - one of the best I have ever had.I had dinner here both nights & it was very nice & well presented. The best part of the hotel though is the staff. Special mention to Robbie at front desk & the Mum/daughter/boyfriend combo in the dinning room - nothing was too much bother to them & they actually looked like they were happy to be there. Would recommend especially for the view as you walk out the door in the morning. Loch Fyne Oyster bar just 10 mins drive away too

Room Tip: Room 212 was nice

Just back from a spur off the moment weekend break at the argyll hotel . Booked 2 nights dinner, bed and breakfast to recharge my batteries before going into hospital on monday for an operation. We had a fantastic weekend and would like to thank the staff for a lovely relaxing time.

ROOMS :- yes as other reviews have stated the rooms are very tired and in need off upgrading BUT they are spotless clean and adequate. No complaints . We had our dog with us and they changed our room to a bigger room to accommodate.

FOOD :- we were on a dinner , bed and breakfast basis and the food was fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, you could have continental and a cooked breakfast , as much as you wanted, fresh toast, tea, coffee and fruit juices. They also have de caffeinated tea and coffee.
Dinner was beautifully cooked and presented. Couldn't fault it. Three lovely courses . The menu changes each night . We had pate with oatcakes for starters , then hubby had beef and I had salmon and fresh vegetables served in a seperate dish followed by lemon posset and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Second nite we had pâté with oatcakes, followed by sea bass and balmoral chicken and fresh veg, then lemon cheesecake and strawberry shortbread with chantilly cream. The food was amazing. COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF.

STAFF :- The staff at the argyll are so attentive and friendly. Went out off their way to make sure that all the guests were looked after well. Robbie on the front desk is a star :) , can't do enough for you. Thanks robbie.

BAR AND LOUNGE BAR :- nicely decorated, comfortable and relaxing.

There was also a wedding on at the hotel on Saturday and still everything ran very smoothly.

Thanks to everyone at the argyll Hotel for a lovely weekend. We haven't stayed at this hotel before but would certainly recommend it. It's like a home from home.

See you again in 4 weeks when we will be back for another wee break to celebrate our anniversary.

REMEMBER IF YOU GO TO THIS HOTEL THE ROOMS ARE TIRED BUT CLEAN , they are being done up within the next few months . I believe, BUT THE STAFF AND HOSPITALITY ARE AMAZING. Which makes our break special.

THANK YOU EVERYONE.

This was our second stay at the Argyll this year and once again we had a fantastic stay. Ok the hotel is a bit run down but is seemingly getting a refurb soon but for me the staff make up for it.
The staff at this hotel can not be more helpful especially robbie on the front desk who has been beyond helpful, polite and friendly to us this guy is such a good advert for the hotel and made us feel like nothing was a problem for him.
The food was ok,a bit over priced for what you get but as we are a very fussy family regarding food the restaurant staff where very patient and helpful.
We definitely go back to this hotel every time we are in inveraray.

The Argyll Hotel is in a lovely location , right at the waterfront in the beautiful village of Inveraray. We were allocated the last available bedroom in the hotel for the Best of the West festival weekend. Whilst we were glad to get a room on this very busy festival weekend the room we were given was very disappointing. Our room was more like a small single than a double sized room. Decor was very dated and in need of refurbishment.
Food at the Argyll was excellent - we had our evening meal and buffet style breakfast at the hotel.
Staff were all very attentive and helpful, from the reception staff to the restaurant service.
All in all a good value DBB deal at the Argyll Hotel. I would return but would ask for a better room next time.

The first building you see as you approach Inveraray over the bridge is The Argyll Hotel, please don`t stop there for a drink , a coffee, or a meal
The building is sad , in need of refurbishment, and a deep, deep clean inside
We stopped for a drink in the lounge bar The Hotel has an unenviable position overlooking the Loch but the conservatory at the front of the hotel is no more than an entrance and does not have a comfortable seating area, just dining tables and chairs with tablecloths, no cutlery etc ,it is starkly lit,and uninviting, a great opportunity missed to tempt the weary traveller.
Whilst I went to the bar to get drinks, my wife sat in a chair at one of the windows to have a look over the views of the loch The windowsill was covered in dead flies and wasps, the paint was flaking from the windows ,which were difficult to see through they were so dirty, the dust on some of the chairs was so thick it had , had to have been there for months.
There were 4 chairs ,2 tables and 3 coasters in the small area in which we were sitting with sticky surfaces all around, AND the carpet was covered in debris, we left soon after arriving !!!
Take my advice don't stop at the Argyll ,keep on driving ,there are other places to eat or drink

Room Tip: Cant comment on rooms etc as we did not stay Go somewhere else

I recently had a DBB stay at The Argyll Hotel in Inverary. There were eight of us in three double rooms and a twin. From arrival, we were made to feel very welcome by the reception staff. This continued throughout our stay. As we were a little early for the check in time, we were able to leave our bags while the rooms were being prepared.
The hotel has started an upgrade and our four rooms were in various stages of refurbishment but it's plain to see that it will be very nice when completed.

The public areas are pleasant and very comfortable. There was a good choice on the dinner menu and food was well prepared and presented. Breakfast was also very tasty and offered a variety of hot and cold buffet.

The situation of the hotel is ideal, overlooking Loch Fyne and providing wonderful views, peace and tranquility. I would recommend a stay at The Argyll Hotel as you will be made welcome and will definitely get value for money.

Room Tip: If possible, ask for a loch view!
