“Fed well - slept well ??”

We spent 2 nights at the Argyll Hotel on a promotion from Easy Breaks - very good value
The Hotel could do with a coat of paint on the outside (not very appealing when you pull up to the hotel) and more upgrading inside.

Staff were all very cheerful, pleasant and helpful

Room fair sized with side view of the hills - lovely soft beds - plenty of very hot water for a bath or shower.

The 24" T.V. had only channels 1,2, 3 and 4 plus Sky news and no teletext etc

Excellent is the only way to describe the meals
Both the A La carte, general and and bar menus have a good variety of food which is well cooked and presented.
One problem - the portions are huge. I had Haddock with smoked Salmon on top and this would have done for two meals for me at home -same applied to my wife's roast beef. Both served with plenty of fresh veg
Puddings - good selection - only come in large sizes as well.

As part of our package, which the hotel also do themselves was afree visit to nearby Inveraray Castle - after visiting here you get a 20% discount of Inveraray Jail or Auchindrain township

Guests should remember when booking there are no lifts and possibly 3 sets of stairs to climb to top floor rooms

Room Tip: Book early and pay for view of Loch Fynne

Wee weekend away at the stunningly beautiful Inveraray. We scored with a loch view room, despite booking late. Wonderfully relaxing break at a really nice, good-vibe hotel. It beats it's 3-star rating - I'd say 3 and a half - good value for money. Staff were fantastic - always smiley despite us turning up for Breakfast 10 minutes before closing time both days -sorry). Evening food ok, better than 3 star, but not 5 star - but we didn't pay for 5 star. The mussels, though, we're outstanding - I didnt' know they grew that big.

All-in-all, I'd say if you were looking for 3-star, this is one to go for. For 4-star, needs a wee bit more cash put into rooms, grub (ok for 3 star, not 4 star, the reheated roast beef which possibly could have been roasted sometime in the 1940's wasn't good), but in value for money terms, budget weekend away, you'd struggle to find better.

Breakfast excellent for this class hotel.

Once again, at this price level, you won't find better. Shove £20,000 at this hotel, and someone will make a lot of money.......

Room Tip: Offer the manager your body to get a loch view. Worth the money for that.

We were wary of staying here as had seen a few negative reviews on Trip advisor. Our room was small but clean and in need of upgrading. The food was lovely and well presented. The staff were friendly and helpful, over all we had a nice stay here but it is needing a complete refit as the décor is a bit dated and tired.

Booked a two night stay with evening meal on first night, for the price paid it was good value for money. The room was clean and adequate with a view over the loch. We stayed on Easter weekend so hotel busy on Sunday night/Monday breakfast but food was well cooked - we ate in again on Monday night and although menu was short it changes daily and is all prepared. The staff were welcoming and attentive and we would stay again. The premises does have character and may need some TLC but for the price paid it is worth it.

Room Tip: Loch views are over the 'main' road - but you are in the West Coast so it's not exactly...

Stayed here for 1 night in March. Booked through late rooms for bed and breakfast. Room was nice, but very basi, but had a beautiful view! Could do with a little brightening up. The bathroom taps were tempramental, as was the shower but eventually got working. The floorboards in the room seemed a little wonky too. Overall had a lovely stay, staff couldn't have been more helpful, especially the young foreign sounding girl at breakfast. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. Found the bar prices to be a tad expensive though, around £9-£11 for 2 drinks. Would stay here again though.

Room Tip: No lift so maybe not suitable for those who struggle whilst walking. Rooms to the front have a beaut...

Second part of our short break saw us stay atbthe Argyll. Great decision, as, the experience was cracking. This hotel just bursts with character. So relaxing, and tge staff are fantastic. They went out of their way to make sure we and our doggy Oscar had a great time. Food was wonderful, room was fantastic. Thanks to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. We will be back, that's a promise.

Booked in for one night dinner, bed and breakfast. The front of the hotel looks very nice but inside and to the rear a bit run down and rooms in need of some redecoration. Double bedroom to the front of the hotel overlooking the main road and over the loch which was a nice view but not really much else going for the room. Clean enough but quite small, dull and basic. On the plus side, the room was warm with heaters that could be adjusted and details provided on how to ask for more tea/coffee or any other assistance needed during stay. Dining room and lounge bar area are very nice. Staff were helpful, pleasant and attentive and the food was good. Booked through Superbreaks but check with the hotel before arranging as we later found their direct prices are lower.
