“Great night.....”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

We choose to go to the R.B.C. for our end of season night out. There was 9 of us and i have to say we were given 5 star treatment by the waiting staff and the chef.
We all had different starters and Main courses and there was compliments all round. The portions were huge and so tasty. The little touches like candles with cloves and oranges were so nice it made us all feel welcome. Plenty water on the table and the glasses were always topped up. All together a fantastic night out for us all and nobody complained about the noise we were making which was nice for us as we did have a blast......Really good value for money.
My only thing would be the lighting maybe at night time it could be dulled a little for a more relaxed atmosphere......

Thank you so very much for your wonderful review. My apologies for taking so long to respond.
We pride ourselves, in the Royal Burgh Cafe on excellent service, fantastic food, and value for money. So nothing makes us feel better than when we get feedback like that!!!!!

In light of the comments that you made regarding the lighting, we have placed lamps around the restaurant to give atmospheric shading and are looking in to a dimmer system for the spot lights.

We hope that you can take the time to visit us again soon.

Kind regards

Fiona

“cautious reminder”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

we were going to sit in for tea last night , but noticed that the Fish and chips in the restaurant was £5.00 more expensive than getting a carry out which we did and saved ourselves in the region of £10.00 for the same if we ate in the restaurant.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review on our restaurant/takeaway.

You are indeed correct the prices do differ. We find that some customers don't mind to take their food away and eat in a car or on a bench, however some customers like to take advantage of our warm clean restaurant and be waited on, having their food presented on a plate and being given the use of cutlery as opposed to using their fingers or a plastic fork. Our restaurant fish and chips is also served with complimentary tea or coffee and bread and butter. Should a customer wish like-for-like in the takeaway the difference is as little as £1.25, not the £5 as you had stated. Your review seemed to be solely based on a price comparison between the two different services that we offer. It is regrettable that you did not take the time to try both sides and make a true review

“Outstanding Cafe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

On a recent vist to Inveraray we had lunch x 2 and dinner at this excellent establishment. Although there was a full lunch menu, our lunch was of the soup, sandwich and panini variety and it was very good and good value. While there I spotted a Pizza Oven so had to try this for dinner. It was, without doubt, the best ever pizza. Again there was a full menu available and the pasta in particular looked worth a try. There are amazing cakes made by a local lady including the best tiramisu I have ever tasted, They have a very good and reasonably priced wine list. The service was outstanding and I can't wait to return to this absolute gem.

Thank you so very much for your amazing review.

We are so glad that you took the time to return again and again to us. The pizza oven that you saw was imported from Italy and our pizzas are from our own dough recipe, and own sauce recipe. I could be biased but they are the best pizzas I have ever tasted too. The tiramisu is an absolute delight and is made on the premises to a very well kept secret method.

I have passed your comments on to everyone both front and back of house and we all look forward to seeing you again,

Many thanks once more!!

“Good food, great staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Stopped here for lunch while visiting for the day. We both had battered fish and chips with peas. I had the haddock (£9.95) and my husband had the cod (£10.50). Both were huge portions and very tasty, the cod being the best. Both meals iincluded bread and butter and choice of juice, tea or coffee. Our son had pasta bolognese from the kids menu which was a good size portion and included gorgeous ice cream and a drink (£5.50). I finished off with one of what I correctly guessed would be the best coffee on the menu - cappuccino royal , which came with a flake and I really enjoyed it. All came to around £31.10 and was well worth it. Staff were lovely and really looked after us and gave our son crayons and colour in sheet to take with us. They had a good choice from the menu including a specials board and there were smacks available too. Would very recommend and will re visit again in future.

Thank you very much for that great review! We are really glad that you took the time to stop by and try our fish and chips.

I am very proud of the staff that we have this year, returning members from previous years and new faces alike, Each individual has brought their own personality and skills to the job. It is a very well balanced team.

The colouring sheets and crayons were a new venture mid way through the season and what a worthwhile one it has been. Happy children, happy parents!!!

We hope to see you again soon.

“Surprisingly good quality”

Looks deceive here - the decor suggests cafe-quality food but we were all pleasantly with our food and quick service. I had pasta which they made from scratch!

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. As you rightly said our pastas are cooked from scratch to ensure that they are the freshest and the best tasting they can be. Throughout the summer months we have an extensive selection of top quality pasta dishes for our customers to sample as well as the firm favourites. Adriano and his kitchen team carefully source the ingredients and spend a large amount of time developing the dishes, so it is always delightful to hear that their hard work has paid off. Thank you so much.

If you happen to be passing through this way again, please do not hesitate to drop in and say hi!

Many Thanks
Fiona
