“Good food Lunch time and evenings”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2014

We had lunch 5 days and Dinner 6 evenings when we stayed in Inverrary, 2 weeks ago, the food was excellant and the service and welcome was really good, as we had our patterdale terrier with us it was really good that the Geoge is dog friendly we don't patronise anywhere if it is isn't , we will be there again next year.

“Review of pub only.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

We were staying at another hotel but decided to eat at the George's pub. Great decision. The vibe is very special, lots of locals and seemingly very old beams and stone work walls. Food was very tasty, as was the cocktail, billed at 'summer in Scotland, in a glass.'

“The best fish and chips”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2014

Don't ask me what the rest of the menu is like, the fish and chips are so good here, that's what I go for every time. I don't think you will get better anywhere else. They taste even better after a bracing walk up to the monument above the castle.
The George is also a dog friendly place.

“Some good, some bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2014

Lovely building. Incredible selection of malts. The floor manager seemed a bit surly. Had a very decent starter of scallops. Had a £16 main of sea bream, langoustine tails and saffron potatoes. The fish was lovely, but the potatoes were inedibly salty. I'm not shy of salt in my food either! Mentioned this to the waitress who sheepishly apologised. I'd imagine you could have a great meal here, what was disappointing was a main that was ruined by a very poor element and then no real customer service follow-up.
