The 50 minute tour in 10 furnished rooms was well worth the visit. Enjoyed the photo displays and stories about the royal family. In October it was open 10-4:30pm and was 9.75 GBP (9 for seniors). It's a long walk to the gardens, which could use more maintenance. We spent about 3 hours at Glamis including some of the gardens. Ate our picnic lunch in the car park watching the entertaining highland cattle and their calves. There is a nice thatched cottage in the town of Glamis.

Visited 9th October 2012

Tour conducted by an entertaining and knowledgeable American woman who's name escapes me.

Tour was kept interesting and entertaining by the guide, it's so easy for things like this to become stuffy and boring, but this was never allowed to happen.

Tour moves along and a fair pace but still allows a few moments to look around the rooms at your leisure.

Royalists will be big fans of this as Glamis Castle was the childhood home of the Queen Mother and the latter part of the tour was of her bedroom and sitting room which still contain many of her belongings and items of furniture.

We thought this was fascinating. Very much focussed on Queen Eliz the Queen mother. Very good tour guide. Relaxed and informative. Even the gift shop had good stuff.

Even for someone who is not that interested in Castles, Glamis made a very good impression. Great guided tour by knowledgeable tour guide who managed to keep everyone entertained.
