Was given this spa day as a birthday gift which arrived a week late to begin with, I was advised to arrive at 9.30am on Sunday 7th July 2013 I arrived early, As I had never been to the hotel before explained to the person on reception that I was here for a spa day he hardly took his eyes of the computer and gave me directions to the spa area, On arriving at the Spa area I was surprised to find nobody about and a notice on the door stating that nobody would be available until 10.00am. I went back to the reception and advised them of this and was told to go back and wait that someone would be there soon. I didn't think this was very professional and not much customer care was given. Eventually at 9.40 a member of the spa team came and I was shown the spa area, i was very disappointed in the pool area very shabby and unappealing. I was told that lunch would be served at 12.00 so after using the spa facilities I made my way to the bar where I ws informed lunch would be served. I asked a member of the var staff if I was in the correct place for a spa day lunch and was told to take a table. About 15mins later I was brought a menu due to the lack of staff I was unable to finish my lunch as my spa treatment was booked for 1.15.. I felt the staff where very nattentive its not as if when I entered the dining area that there where lost of other dinners there was only myself and abother couple but it took them an hour to serve a plate of soup and my main dish of dried up chicken on a bed of cous cous.
On a lighter note the spa treament of massages and a facial was very good.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and do not think the spa day was value for money.
The hotel management need to listen to customers critism and act accordingly not just e-mail back a standard e-mail. The hotel could do with a refurbishment and better staff training on customer care.
