“Brilliant place to stay, friendly, helpful staff, lovely room & good food”
Reviewed August 20, 2012

When we arrived (after 8 1/2 hours drive) we were told that our booking had somehow been cancelled, fortunately they weren't fully booked so got us straight into a room with many apologies so we could have a sleep. After investigating why the booking was cancelled we were offered a free meal & were able to stay in the room we'd originally been given (they moved other bookings to other rooms to fit us in). The service we got was brilliant & we would definitely stay there again despite the initial hiccup. Breakfast was buffet style setting us up well for being out for the whole day & we had our free meal before leaving for our drive back. There was a band playing on the Saturday evening which we were slightly concerned about as our room was right next to the bar but we could barely hear it. Couldn't fault the food or service in any way, a lovely little place to stay.

Had a one night stay at this hotel, the room was first class, modern and spotless. It also come with a patio door and deck. The hotel is also the site of a very lively pub that has entertainment on a Saturday night. The entertainment was more in keeping with the younger crowd rather than a pair of wrinklies away for a quiet night. It was good but not our scene. Buffet style breakfast in the morning, good range on offer but slightly chaotic on the morning that we were there due to the normal chef being off. Some nice walks to be had locally but not much retail therapy for the better half.

Room Tip: Room 202 is furthest from the bar

Stayed For 3 nights May 10-13. Played Golf at Carnoustie walked with clubs down to courses only took 5 minutes. Well looked after by the staff especially Alan, Steph & Lyn ( even though she wasn't keen on serving me shandy). Great Breakfast to set you up for the day. In the evening at weekend more lively ( Ideal ). Cant say enough good things about the place and if we're mad enough to go again it'll be where i'll be staying. Thank again to everyone hope to meet you again some day

We stayed at the 19th hole hotel on a golf weekend. The staff couldn't do enough for us. All barmaids were friendly and nothing was to much trouble, the manager Alan was fantastic he made sure we had everything we needed was friendly and easy to talk to. If going back to Carnoustie I would stay here again!!

Thanks to everyone at the hotel they many our stay great even if the golf we played wasn't the same.

Stayed a Saturday night here. Service was friendly and quick ( of the 'can do' variety). We had a meal early evening - Sat night was busy so it wasn't quiet, as the bistro bit is an extension of the bar, but the food was good with decent portions. We were elsewhere for the bulk of the evening and returned before 11pm. We had been advised upon booking that there would be live music until 1230am, so this wasn't a problem. The excellent band played a range of music right up to good, hard driving rock. Very good atmosphere with a wide age range and quick service on drinks.
The bedroom was up to date, clean and had facilities that you don't usually get in smaller hotels, eg a room bar and a safe - top marks here. Breakfast was buffet style, but with everything you would want. All in all, a great wee hotel that's working hard to make a name for itself.

Room Tip: Our room faced the car park, but rooms are high enough up to be away from general noise. There is a...

Our trip was a business trip combined in to a mini break. Found the hotel by searching for dog friendly hotels. Stayed for 2 nights & just perfect, wish could have stayed longer. Room was great. Huge bed with lovely modern furniture. Fully stocked mini bar which included fresh milk (not UHT) so you make a decent cupa. Lovely modern bathroom with a really powerful shower. bathroom a lot bigger than most others you get in other hotels. Staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Located just off the main road down a small street. Less than 5 minutes walk from the beach and the golf courses. You could here music coming from the bar downstairs on Friday night but no loud enough to put us off staying there again.
