You will have to be reasonably fit to walk along these cliff tops, but even if you only go a little way along it is well worth it. Good footwear is advisable as you may want to venture out a little on the cliffs. The wildlife and the chance to see dolphins, seals and the odd shark makes it special. The path is narrow but for the hiker or nature watcher this is a must.

The views are stunning and the smell of the sea is lovely
The path is a bit small and sometimes you have to walk in a row.

These are amongst the most spectacular cliffs in Scotland, and can be admired by a surfaced and clearly marked cliff top path between Arbroath and Auchmithie. On the route, there are many chances to leave the path (where safe) to explore some of the many caves along the way and to see features like the Needle's E'e or the De'il's Heid which have been sculpted by the seas. There are also inlets which had been caves thousands of years ago before their roofs collapsed through the constant actions of the seas. The walk is easy enough to be tackled by most ages, but a close eye should be kept on children and dogs should be kept on a lead. And at the end of the walk, you can always treat yourself to a fine meal in the cosy But And Ben restaurant in Auchmithie.

Brilliant. Seaton Sea Cliffs walk to Auchmithie, less people, a lot of seabirds, But'n Ben and back by bus
