Our family visited on a Sunday evening to sample the carvery. The waiting staff greeted us with a smile and quickly led us to our table.Our drinks order was taken by a very efficient young waitress who was pleasant and clearly very good at her job. The food I am afraid let it down a bit. The roast beef ,turkey and gammon on offer had all been cooked well and carved nicely by the chef but the whole meal was let down by diabolical vegetables and gravy. I fail to understand how restaurants cannot serve gravy that has been made from the stock from the meats they have cooked?????
It was tasteless,bland and added nothing to the meal. The vegetables were over cooked and also tasteless.
The starter I chose was prawn tempura which consisted of 3 undercooked prawns in a pale bland batter. The cost of this very disappointing dish was £5.75. Not really acceptable I don't think.
We cannot fault the staff,the service or the surroundings but the food could be alot better. I would be happy to pass on my expertise on gravy making to the chefs.
