A bit of a pain with the staircases to the front desk/rooms but a friendly welcome. Large room with nice bathroom. A few bars within walking distance and easy access to a taxi pickup on the side street.

Not sure I'd go to Aberdeen again...but if so this hotel would be in the running for another stay.

I booked for 2 nights at the rate of £175 per night. Although well used to the rip off nature of Aberdeen hotels, this really took the biscuit. The weather had turned cold and the room was freezing on check in. There was no visible form of heating in the bathroom at all and it felt as cold and damp as a cave. The two radiators in the room were stone cold and the valves were tightened closed and the adjusters removed. They were offering to give me a plug in convector. The hotel is in a seedy place. There's nowhere to park in front, even to drop your bags in. I parked in a side street and some dodgy characters looked hungrily at the car and the wheels in particular. I had to push through a crowd people grouped around the front door. Many seemed to be having a smoking break outside Ladrokes, which the hotel sits above. I was told that the best place to take my car for the night would be Union Square - that would have been a 20 minute walk back. I demanded a refund and the manager relent my room in the 15 minutes that I was repacking my things. That's Aberdeen for you. I will never be back to this hotel.

Staff were very polite , thats the only positive i can say . Cold rooms , no central heating just a plug in heater , a candle would omit more heat than it did..

Decor is very dated , and could do with a tidy up.

Not impressed, I grew up on a council estate, for £130/ night inc breakfast very poor, breakfast is ok but small portions and mostly self service, (what do you expect for £130 I hear you shout) Well let me tell you the hotel is old and smells of a short time hotel..... It past its time and some fools bought it and tried with not a lot of money to update it,( unfinished rooms, tatty bedroom furniture, minimal tea/ coffee and NO room service. To add to the stress there's no lift and the decor ranges from dare fully unfinished to dire. It could be said I have high expectations, this could be true but having stayed else where for cheaper and better all round, I'm disappointed. I can only say what I see or experience but its near the port and town centre and expensive for what they offer. Wont be back

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for the weekend and not to say I was disappointed. The rooms are very small infact there was only 12" between the end of the bed and the dresser and it really needs alot of redecorating, rooms and bar area in quite a poor state infact. There is no lift so we had to go up 5 flights of stairs to get to our room but on the bright side the staff are lovely and so friendly and your towels are changed daily. We had breakfast and it was delicious. The hotel is across from the railway station so close to the city centre therefor alot of traffic so you hear the traffic alot even during the night and unfortunately it needs ALOT of TLC.

Stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend for an overnight stay to edinburgh the next day.
Excellent location as it is directly opposite to the bus station and Town.
The Breakfast was of good Quality and the staff in the restaurant were very helpful and efficient.
Overall hotel is very nice and clean.
Only two things that I didn't like, the hotel has approx 5 floors and the stairs are very steep. There is no lift as it is described as a listed building.
No bell boy or assistance was offered with suit cases. Would find it very hard to
Imagine older people and disabled or families with young children managing these stairs , yes I would recommend staying here but would only stay again if all the stuff I have mentioned was addressed

booked a room for 2 weeks so managed to get a bit of a discount, but had to pay in full at check in and was told that there was a 48 hour cancellation policy.
staff were friendly enough, the room was OK clean enough the bed was comfortable though the décor was a bit dated and there was damp above the window, no air con so to open the window you had to climb over the bed same with closing the curtains.
The bathroom was spot on it looked like it had just been refurbished.
Breakfast was very good cereal, juicehey , fresh brewed coffee, and a choice of cooked breakfast.
I had to leave after 1 week at short notice when I told the receptionist she said I still had to pay for the 2 nights that I would not be there a bit harsh I think but they say it is their policy.
there was a thunder storm whilst I was staying and the rain came in through the roof and dripped through every floor right through to the restaurant, dripping through light fittings and smoke detectors, not very good at all.

Room Tip: traffic noise in rooms at the front
