The Thistle in Altens is of a good standard and is clean throughout. It's nothing amazing but it is much more reasonably priced than other hotels in Aberdeen.
It's located a little out of the way for the city centre but was ideal for where I was working. You will need to use a car or taxi's in order to get around while you are there.
The hotel is very grey and dull looking from outside but this is the style of a lot of the architecture in Aberdeen, inside it's of a quality standard and looks much nicer.
The restaurant offers some getting to be posh cuisine with the pub area offering some more gastro pub type meals. The breakfast was varied and was a typical quality buffet that many hotels provide.
There is a large car park on site if you are driving and it's not too difficult to find, many rooms have views off into the surrounding hills.More
