This was my first visit to Cafe Rouge and will be honest and say it hadn't been my choice. However, we had a lovely lunch. Good quality food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Lots of choice on the menu but stuck with tried and tasty croque Monsieurs and a salad. Well all four of us cleaned our plates. It was just a pity that we were only there for a quick bite or the dessert menu would have been requested too!

After having been to the Café Rouge in Birmingham on two occasions for lunch and having enjoyed both meals, the visit to Aberdeen's one was very disappointing. We ordered a salad at £12 and was extremely surprised at the size of the portions, the Caesar salad was of a child's portion, the Chicken and bacon was slightly better but was still almost of a starter size. The food itself was fresh and did taste nice but should have cost no more than £7/£8. Would possibly consider going back but would definitely not order salads. The restaurant itself was very nice and the service was good.

We stopped here during a shopping trip for a 2nd breakfast :) which was really tasty, service was very quick, the man serving us was very nice, chatty & helpful
Overall it was a lovely eating experience

Really enjoyed a three course meal and wine - had a great steak -rare very well cooked and wife thought hers was cooked to perfection. Service really attentive although to be fair it was very quiet

Have had a few average visits to Cafe Rouge Aberdeen & to be blunt, one completely disastrous visit once where I swore I would never return! But having calmed down, have revisited and the service and food is much better in 2013 than during the 2012 visits!

The set menu is really good value and the best option by far although their French Onion soup is to die for albeit expensive ad also a paltry portion (must give an extra ladle chef!)

Anything from their menu that contains Gruyere cheese is also a must!

If you tried & were disappointed last year, give it another go. It's certainly improved.
