Attended the restaurant for New Year's Day lunch, with our two children aged 10 and 12, who were made very welcome ( child's menu available if required). The ambience was wonderful from the moment we walked through the door , with the roaring log fire, in front of which we enjoyed pre lunch drinks. The food was, as usual ( we've eaten here many times) absolutely delicious and the service second to none .
Although quite expensive , for the quality of the experience I believe it represents value for money, you certainly get what you pay for at the Marcliffe. We had a perfect long leisurely lunch , and at no time felt any pressure from the excellent staff to hurry along. We have stayed and eaten in many five star hotels and in our opinion, the Marcliffe is up there with the best of them. We will definitely be back!

A small group of us enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea in the Drawing Room of the Marcliffe on 11th December. A great treat. Lovely selection of sandwiches, warm scones (best ever?) delicious fancies, tea/coffee and even a glass of bubbly.

Lovely surroundings, staff very attentive. Only slight negatives were we were a tad chilly at one end of our grouping, and the sofas are actually too big/soft and low to really relax into.

Otherwise, a perfect way to while away a few hours of a winter afternoon with friends. We will be back.

Stayed for 2 nights in October for a family wedding. Have stayed previously and hoped it would be same high standard. Everything was excellent and made the wedding all the more special. Hotel grounds were perfect for photos. We stayed in standard room on first floor which was lovely. Had all the usual amenities including bathrobes, slippers, mini bar, plenty of sachets with various teas and coffee, fresh fruit etc. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice and the meal at the wedding was delicious. All staff were helpful and efficient.

After a day of golf, we were glad to check into the charming and friendly Marcliffe Hotel & Spa. The staff welcomed us by name as soon as we arrived at this small luxurious hotel. Situated on an 11-acre estate, the Marcliffe’s white mansion is wonderfully away from the hustle and bustle of Aberdeen. Our King Suite (The Floors) was beautifully appointed with elegant furnishings and fine touches. The comfy sitting area was great, the linens and towels super plush. The Marcliffe is a special place with a welcoming drawing room with a roaring fire and bar. We had a delicious dinner in the restaurant as well as a super Scottish breakfast in the morning. We especially were thrilled to have the satellite TV and be able to watch the final rounds of The Ryder Cup relaxing in our room. The grounds and gardens are beautiful, too.

Room Tip: Our "Floors" room was extremely well done and easy to move around. Each room seems to be...

If you ever stay in Aberdeen and dont want to be in the City centre then this hotel is a must.It is not so expensive for a 5 star hotel. The restaurant is outstanding! Customer service is something special. I will always stay here in my future trips to Aberdeen. £10 for a taxi into the centre.
