Description: E.A.R.L. In The Bemont (Formerly Earl On The Green) has been specialising in Sandwiches and Panini since 2003. Our move to The Belmont Picture House has enabled us to add a little bit more flair to our homemade recipes, Chilli, Panini Baguettes, Wraps, also with free Wifi & a fully licensed bar, furnished with the comfiest seats in the city and decorated with art from both local and national talent, the Belmont Cinema bar is now the perfect place to grab some lunchtime nourishment or a pre-cinema feast. At last, we have a venue that you will be able to sit down in, catch up on some reading or studies, socialize with friends, and of course... Eat A Real Lunch! We're available for sandwich platter delivery, just call, e-mail or check our forthcoming website for our Outside Catering menu. We also accept phone orders for pickup and localised delivery.

This is a wonderful place to eat in a central location in Aberdeen. The atmosphere is good, the staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. Their chili and nacho bowl is the bargain of the year. They even have Leffe Brun bottled Belgian beer.

Give this a try, you will want to come back again and again. Even on a Saturday, you can still find a seat.

Tables are spaced reasonably far apart, so meeting a friend does not involve overhearing or being overheard. Food reasonably good, although when I visited one main course item was not available, and although there was a tabletop sign displaying soup of the day, when I asked for it I was told it was finished, and the sign removed.

E.A.R.L. is a great addition to the Belmont cinema. I've eaten there many times, usually just before a film. It's not a 'fast food' place - the service is laid back and friendly, and it can take a little while for food to arrive - but it's worth the wait. The soups are always excellent, there's usually a good range of options, and it arrives in a huge bowl with a warm bread roll - a meal in itself.

We've only tried the non-meat paninis (as there's no information on where the meat is from, and we strive to avoid GM-fed meat/dairy ... which means it usually has to be organic these days - almost impossible to find in a restaurant in Aberdeen!), and they're generally good too. At our last visit a couple of weeks ago, we tried the veggie nachos, which were wonderful - a large portion, and very more-ish.

All in all, it's great value for money, especially with 10% off with your Friends of the Belmont card. I just hope the recent buy-out by Cine World doesn't change E.A.R.L.!

I don't know how this place could get any good reviews unless the staff are writing it. The place was uncomfortably cold, the drinks expensive and served in dirty glasses and the service very poor and slow with the staff more interested in chatting to their friends and texting on their mobiles, when there were customers waiting to be served.

have eaten here a good few times when attending the free comedy nights which are held on thursdays. the paninis are great - my favourite is the 'notorious big' which has salami, chorizo, ham, jarlsberg, gruyere, pesto, wholegrain mustard & red onion - my only sugestion would be to throw a handful of crisps or a few leaves on the plate to garnish as the panini is just served up on its own and i think a little more effort with the presentation would go a long way.
