Aberdeen Marriott Hotel

Stayed here with my husband for a few nights.
Rooms were basic, I think they mostly aim for customers who are on business or about to fly on to somewhere else from the airport.
Windows did not open, so no fresh air could get into the rooms.
Jacuzzi was broke and couldn't be used for the full length of our stay. The pool was always busy with local families, so you were unable to have proper swim.
If looking for a relaxing break then this is not the hotel for you.
The best thing about this hotel was breakfast, lots to choose from and always hot.

This ius ideal for staying in Dyce and Aberdeen airport. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Fantastic breakfast..(whiskey in the porridge if you want!)
As for previous posts and the wifi issue...ask at the desk for a wifi ticket...cost 50p. Still think hotels should provide free wifi in this day and age.

Very good hotel for business purposes. Close to the airport, far from the city center. Can be very busy, try to book in advance. Few nice restaurants in the area. The staff is friendly and deliver good service. Good size gym and pool available.

Pretty close to the airport but leave plenty of time of the return journey because there is a bottleneck. Nice rooms, very comfortable and excellent service - a good place to stay in a busy city if you want to be close to the airport.

Recently attended a function and stayed overnight. From entering the premises till we departed after a great breakfast we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff we came in contact with. The function was brilliant, service and standard of food good. The breakfast was wonderful with a very warm welcome from the supervisor to the waiting staff. Given the weather, with a snow storm blowing outside I am very glad that we made a prior decision to book a room in the hotel even though we only live a few miles away. The rooms were warm and clean. Well worth a visit and stay. Fitness facility only added to an enjoyable stay over.

This is not your standard Marriott. This is an older hotel, no elevator, two floors and will remind you a bit of a holiday inn. But there are some really good things about this place: the staff works hard to make sure you have a pleasant stay, especially the front desk; there is an easy shuttle to the airport, which is good because it is not that close to the airport; they have a fantastic park and fly program; and the work out facility is okay. Th only thing that really let's this place down is the kitchen - the food is not great and considering it is out of town you have to travel to eat somewhere else.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs inward facing room so you get some quiet. It will be worth dragging you bags up...

The hotel was chosen for me by business colleagues, but it’s an obvious and convenient choice if you’re flying into Aberdeen airport which is only a 10-15 minute cab ride away. It is however, a much longer journey if you want to go the the city centre.

I’d been warned by the same colleagues that it would be disappointing. So, let me deal with the good things first before flagging the issues.

My room was exactly as expected, clean and functional. All the staff I encountered on reception, in the bar and restaurant were extremely helpful and good humoured. I ate in the bar in the evening and in the restaurant for breakfast. The meals were good, particularly the bar food, though the breakfast was a little uninspiring. During my stay the reception staff ordered a cab for me and then took the trouble to find me in the bar and let me know it had arrived. Thank-you.

So issues. The hotel is used by a number of oil companies transferring staff to/from offshore installations with constant coming and going. I was kept awake by banging hotel room doors. A colleague was woken by helicopter/air traffic noise. My other colleague was kept awake by the TV in the adjacent room. None of us got a good night’s sleep.

Second. I paid £219 per night. I’m aware of local market costs but for a pretty standard hotel I think this is poor value for money.
