“Cozy place”
Reviewed June 9, 2012

The food was not particularly creative or interesting, but quality was fine. Wine list was also short, but very well priced and adequately deep. Very friendly staff, but a little slow for the service. Decor was cozy and the whole experience was comfortable.

“Not a "taste of Tuscany"”
Reviewed May 12, 2012 via mobile

The food was bland and very unexciting. It felt like a cafe trying to "do" Italian food. Although the wine was lovely. The staff were friendly, but we were disappointed with the overall experience. It was not a "taste of Tuscany".

“Pleasant staff - a warm welcome - but poor food”
Reviewed April 25, 2012

Ate here recently - a last minute decision on a weekend night - if it was that good a place there would not have been so many tables available. Staff were really pleasant and welcoming. The quality of the ingredients was lacking and generally a disappointing experience.

“Serendipity for two.”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

Having unexpectedly come across this restaurant, we decided to try it. After all "The Taste of Tuscany" seemed to be a good catch.
The restaurant itself is on the second floor, and we were instantly greeted upon arrival. Definatley friendly staff, the waitress showed us to our table which was located near the window. The place definatley has good lighting aswell, as big windows. A nice change from the typical romantic dark lighting often seen in Italian restaurants.
We didn't order wine, however there was an extensive wine list - Italian choices of course!
My friend and I ordered a Foccacia with mozzarella and a tomato bruschetta. Nice and simple, although maybe the wait before hand could have been shortened. The main meal for myself was Gnocchi served with chicken and ham in a mascarpone tomato based sauce. It tasted good, with lots of flavour - surprisingly for gnocchi.
The price was average for our meal, and commendable staff. The only downside was I was too full for desert!

“Nothing special, but friendly service”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

This restaurant was a little disappointing after the 'taste of tuscany' marketing. A mainly standard Italian menu but with poor vegetarian choices unless you wanted pizza. The pizza was very good though, however my calamare starter was overcoked and rubbery. For my main I had the seafood paella (really just seafood risotto) which was generously packed with shellfish including a whole laungoustine on the top. No scrimping on the fish! Very tasty, if a bit salty. The huge portions meant we didn't make it to dessert. The decor was stuck in an 80's timewarp, but it was clean and the staff were very friendly.
