A highly motivated staff makes sure the Gardens are kept up to scratch. Recently featured in the National Trust magazine. Quite apart from the excellent gardens, you can visit outdoor theatre occasions (Gilbert and Sullivan and Shakespeare Richard III). Also special days such as Apple Sundays when produce is on sale. Back up shop and tea-room make it a worthwhile social occasion for visitors. Closed during the winter but lots of work goes on to get ready for the new season.

I visited with my daughter and grandson. It was a great day with lots to interest all of us. The gardens were beautiful and the atmosphere with the crowds of people there made this a memorable day.

Took my three young children and their gran to visit the gardens.
Had an excellent afternoon, the tearoom was superb and such fresh homebaking!!
The Gardens were awesome and the museums kept the kids occupied for hours.
Cannot wait for it to open again in May to visit again.

This is a bit of a gem. A walled garden from way back lovingly restored, If you go in Autumn fruitting apples line the walls and flowers in the plots do not foget to sit down in the quite rooms within the garden 'turrets' a magic place to sit quitely and watch the world go by. The restored farm out building are a step back in time to a time when things were small scale
