On a coach trip to Braemar and had the chance to visit this church. It is beautiful inside and it was lovely just to sit in the quietness of your own thoughts. Loads of info on the history of this royal church

Very pretty old church, with much charm. I visited in a group and all were interested in theroyal connection. There was a gentleman there who was quite informative and was able to show us where the queen sits.

Only a short tour and a few outdoor pictures unless you choose to walk across the nearby bridge to the gates of the Queen's Balmoral Estate. On the way, pass by a memorial honoring locals who died in WWI and WWII. Pretty area of the countryside surrounds the church, which would probably not rate any tourist interest if it were not so closely connected to the Royal Family.

If you are at all interested in British Royalty, this is a fun adventure.

In August and September, they attend church here at 11:30 am. The crowds are usually quite small. You can get a nice view of them as thy arrive at 11:20 am and depart at 12:25 pm.

It is a bit of a journey to get to Crathie, but the scenery is Scotland at its best and worth the journey. If you book far in advance, you can stay at a cottage on the grounds of the Queen's estate, Balmoral.

If you are coming from the South, such as Edinburgh, Stirling, or Glasgow, stop at Scone Castle on A93 about 2 miles north of Perth. It is well maintained and full of history.

A small kirk, lovely stained glass windows. Suprisingly roomy inside. Nice to find a plain, simple church. Enjoy the peace and quiet here.
