“Great little museum. Worth 1-2 hours!”

Not only is this museum free, but it is extremely well done. Lots of interesting history on the oil and gas business in Scotland. Great exhibits and convenient little cafe for a coffee or snack. Good for all ages.

“OK, not great, kids would like”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2013

Pretty much a fanzine for the oil industry in the North Sea. Fair enough - they seemed to have paid for it. The rig is pretty cool and the views from the big windows out on the docks are interesting. It would be better if there were more about the history of the North Sea and Aberdeen, rather than a huge oil industry fan club facility. There was just about nobody working there when I was there, either (during the week, during October), so no one to ask any questions or anything.

“A great introduction to the area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

This small museum was a wealth of information. We learned a lot about the Aberdeen area in a short time. For us personally, the scale model of an oil platform was a stunner. A friend of ours just started working on one and the model helped us understand what his (and other oil workers') life was like.

This is a very doable museum and well worth your time.

“Fascinating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

This is a really interesting museum with well presented displays and exhibitions on various aspects of our seafaring history with a particular focus on Aberdeen and the oil industry. It's free to get in and there's an NCP car park across the road, although that is quite expensive.

We spend a couple of hours here and got round most of the major exhibits although that wasn't anything like long enough to do all of it or to do it thoroughly so we will probably be coming back again to see the rest at some point. It's a well-maintained museum and was easily accessible for the elderly people in our group with lifts and ramps.
