Aberdeen maritime museum is relatively compact, but they make good use of the space they have with a large model of an offshore platform running up through the various floors, which I particularly enjoyed.
A large portion of the museum is dedicated to oil and gas related maritime pursuits, which makes sense in context for the region. There are a couple of sponsored 'exhibits' which I was less than enamoured with, but most of the displays are interesting and informative.
When I went there was a temporary exhibition about the Arctic/Antarctic, which was really good, with some beautiful photographs and pieces.
Definitely recommend if you are at all interested in maritime history and have a free afternoon in Aberdeen!
