“Excellent trip to Balmoral”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

Although it was a miserable weather, Karl made the trip lovely, with interesting commentaries and jokes. We stopped at the Falls of Feugh to see some jumping salmon but unfortunately we didn't see any because it's not yet the season, and then we headed off to Balmoral. Lovely experience with plenty of time to visit and have lunch. We were then given the option to stop past Royal Lochnagar distillery, which we did, and we had a fun visit thanks to the guide - Eric. We then headed home but stopped past Ballater for a short visit at the train station and in the center of the town. The ride back was rather funny, with lovely stories about ghosts in scottish castles and other typical scottish stories. Karl is a brilliant guide and we truly enjoyed his tour. I will definitely book his other tours as soon as I get some free time.

“Excellent”
Reviewed June 29, 2014 via mobile

Karl is well worth using, knowledgeable and friendly. We did the Sunday Mystery Tour that was excellent, good idea to have some suggestions about what you would like to see before you go ie castles, distilleries.

“What a great experience!”
Reviewed June 11, 2014

Karl was terrific - we actually booked two day tours with him before arriving in Scotland - one to several Castles and another Distillery tour. Dunnottar Castle was an incredible experience and probably our favorite but we enjoyed every minute of our tours and being able to explore Aberdeen and surrounding towns.
We are from Kentucky and certainly couldn't have enjoyed the scenery like we did if we had tried renting a car and doing it on our own like we had originally planned. Karl provided a lot of local insight about the areas we drove through to get to our destinations as well as tips on other things and places to see in the area at night.
I would highly recommend booking at least one tour with Karl (you'll probably book another after the first one)

“Diamonds in the Rough”
Reviewed February 18, 2014

You always have an awesome experience when someone like Karl Fisher (just call him Harry) leads you around his home country. We started off taking Karl's tour on Saturday, to Dunnottar, Crathes and Drum Castles. It was definitely an amazing experience, but the best part was the stories that Karl told us along the path. We enjoyed the tour so much we hoped on Sunday's Mystery tour for Sunday.

Karl lead us on another fantastic excursion from Glenfiddich distillery to Loch Ness, and stopped at points of interest along the way we would have never found on our own. His experience and knowledge are what made the tours especially worthwhile. if you have a chance to visit Aberdeen, I highly suggest taking advantage of Karl Fisher's tours. His experience and knowledge of the sights off the beaten path are what make these tours the diamonds in the rough.

“Excellent time on a great day out”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

It's always nice to take friends to a distillery and be able to enjoy the full experience yourself. We ended up having a great time with some unexpected (but fun) side excursions around the Aberdeenshire countryside. Karl was great - friendly and funny banter with a relaxed view to providing a good tour. And the group is small (limited to 7), so you get to chat with folks a bit more than you would on a large coach tour. The only downside on our particular tour was that Glen Garioch distillery was in its quiet season, so most of the distillery was off-limits for the tour. However, they did their best to make up for it with an extra wee dram of whisky and the guide for the distillery was incredibly funny and nice, so we'll call it even.
