No frills hotel. Room comfortable enough and functional. Tea and coffee provided which isn't always the case with budget hotels.

Restaurant service and food quality were both poor. You have to order at the bar but that's not immediately obvious. The food, when it arrived was tasteless. Plenty of other restaurants in town with Union Square a 5 minute walk.

Room 105. Directly above the separately owned Pure Gym. After an hour of continuous banging and noisy machines I complained to be told it would close st 8pm. At 10pm I complained to be told it was a 24 hour gym and the hotel could do nothing about it. At 10.30 I was offered a room on the 5th floor. I was in bed in my pyjamas and did not want to move. My point is if the hotel know about the noise why put people in the room in the first place or at least tell me when I check in and give me the chance to decline the room. A great pity because I work for a bank and we were looking for a second to the jury's when it's full. A clean and modern hotel but no use if you can't get a good night's sleep when you are working next day. But at least the reception staff thanked me for bringing it to their attention they just didn't act quick enough to sort it. Business lost!!

Dear Carol,

Please accept my sincere apologies. I was really sorry to read that you were disappointed with your stay. I treat all feedback with the utmost seriousness and I am currently investigating why your complaint was not properly dealt with. There should be absolutely no noise coming from the Gym therefore we are addressing you complaints to the manager of the gym too.
Thank you for letting us know so we can make sure it will not happen again.

Kind regards,

Dora S.

Hotel is located next to the docks, some rooms will have an excellent view over the docks. Rooms are modern, clean and have what you would expect for a budget hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is pretty good, wide range of hot and cold options available. The hotel is located a short walk away from Union Square, which has food quarter, cinema, bowling etc. Downside to the hotel, is that due to being located in the city centre is there is no free parking. You have to park at the NCP car park directly next door, which is costly.

Room Tip: Ask for a view over the docks

This hotel was as you'd expect for a budget business hotel. Fine, but nothing special or memorable.

I was traveling with a colleague and there was a mix up in the booking, they wished two grown men to share the same double bed, blaming it on my booking, where I had specified, via a phone call to book the room, for a twin room. But after a mild argument they gave us two double rooms for the price of one, so it was resolved in our favour. But the check in staff were not happy about it, and seemed to blame us.

Rooms were fine, charmless, but clean and comfortable. Bit cold in character, with chrome fittings and wooden floor. But everything was there and everything worked.

We didn't have breakfast there, so can't comment.

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff were exceptional and very friendly. This hotel is opposite the docks and our room was noisy if the window was open but the double glazing was very effective. The breakfast was nice and hot. It is just a short walk from Union Square where there are lots of shops and restaurants.
