Stayed in the annex to the Hotel in a huge 2 floor room which was fantastic with 2 children. Room lovely and clean. Staff very veyr friendly. Free cookie on arriveal and free drink. Great value for money and breakfast included. Staff couldn't have been better. Great family stay. The pool is located in the main hotel and was a bit dated. We used the pool late at night and the changing area was dirty by then too but I wouldnt let that detract from the stay.

Dear Mummi1
Thanks for your review - it sounds like you were in one of our Duplex Suites in the Platinum Club which we feel are an excellent standard and always very popular with our guests. Thank you for your feedback about the leisure club, and I will make sure these issues are addressed. Delighted to hear that the staff were very friendly and they will be just as pleased when I tell them your comments.
We hope to welcome you back soon.
Regards
Gavin

We spent a couple of nights at the Doubletree at the end of a week's break in the area.

Having previously stayed in the Leeds Doubletree, it's apparent that this one isn't as new, modern or trendy; but it has mostly been brought up to scratch in terms of amenities (and, most importantly, the welcome cookie!), despite retaining a few tired airs.

The hotel is 10 minute's brisk walk to the end of Union Street at the edge of town, and a couple of minute's walk from the beach (which was somewhat bracing in February!).

Breakfast was nice, fresh and a decent choice. WiFi is free in the 'Platinum Club' (a separate area of the hotel) but reception was patchy. There's a free gym / small pool, too.

Overall, it's as you'd expect from the chain.

Dear zippymonkey
Thanks for your informative review of our hotel. DoubleTree in Leeds looks like a fantastic new product, however we are also making improvements along the way, most recently having a major refurbishment of our Atrium public areas and restaurant. Our location, as you rightly mentioned, is a 10-minute walk from Union Street, and has ample car parking too. We're glad you enjoyed the Platinum Club, and hope you will visit us again soon.
Best regards
Gavin

My husband and I stayed here in the Platinum Club for a short break. The room was comfortable and well equipped - the water, etc., in the fridge was a godsend. However, the room was rather chilly and we had to crank up the panel heater which then led to the room being quite stuffy in the night but overall not too much of a problem. Large really cumfy bed. One dressing gown per couple?!

We were both quite disappointed in the quality of the food served - apart from the breakfasts served in the Platinum Club! As the Platinum Club was rather quiet in the evenings, we were directed over to the main building to eat and the menu was the same every night. The variety was average and quality quite poor. Unfortunately as a nice meal is a high priority for us when we have a break, I cannot give this hotel any more than an average rating.

Another downside is having to cross from the Platinum Club to the main building especially on a cold Aberdeen night. Brought some dresses to wear but was glad of my trousers especially as the dining room was not too warm. Thankfully nobody offered to 'take my coat' so I was able to sit with it around my shoulders. However, I think they may be carrying out alterations as the place looked very dull and uninviting - not a picture in sight just dim grey walls.

HOWEVER the staff were ALL extremely friendly and helpful ***** to them!

Dear HighlanderScotland
Thank you for your constructive review, and I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the dining experience. We were in the process of a refurbishment of the restaurant during your last visit, and we had just launched the new all-day menu. The menu was compiled to include our guests' favourite dishes, home-cooked from fresh ingredients. We will regularly make changes to the menu to ensure variety for our guests. Thanks for your feedback, and we hope you will visit again soon.
Best regards
Gavin

I stayed in one of the Platinum rooms. The staff were very polite. Room was very clean and everything worked. Some items like the couch and shower curtain were a little tired but were clean and usable. The bed was huge and very comfy, lots of pillows and cushions. I had complimentary Pepsi / Diet Pepsi, still and sparkling water and orange juice, along with some chocolates (a pack of 4 white chocolates). I asked for a room high up and away from stairs / lifts but they had no high up rooms but apologised for this and did put me in a room away from main walk ways which shows they do what they can. I would stay here again.

With a colleague from overseas, we dropped by for a late lunch as it is a very handy location. I have been many times for a bar lunch and one has to accept the slightly unusual layout in the centre of the bar area (not quite sure how otherwise to refer). Nevertheless, upon arrival we were were met with a building site and a rather clutterred reception area. To be fair we were directed to either the restaurant area or the Club which is across the car park to another building - the latter not being too good on a wet Aberdeen day.

We opted for the "Bar Meal" in the outer area of the restaurant and treated to the sound of building works going on. The Bar Staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The food was superb (what you would expect from a Hilton) and plenty of it. However, being a "Hilton Hons and a Glasgow Hilton Premier Member" it would be better to remove this place from their publicity until the current extensive renovations are complete.

Friendly and efficient staff together with good food....all served up in atrocious surroundings for a Hilton. Poor show.

Room Tip: Perhaps consider the renovations if you wish to impress yopur partner or clleague...but it will get...

This day has been a long time coming however I pleased to announce that the excellent refurbishment is complete, you must revisit us again soon and experience the wonderful décor and relaxed seating areas. New to the hotel is a modern business centre making an ideal work area for those who need to catch up on those all important emails.
We look forward to welcoming you back to experience the changes and more importantly our NEW all day menu which is available from 11am to 11pm.
Kind Regards
