We had a dinner at Gurkha Chef on Friday night and it was fabulous ! The service was excellent, the flavours were superb and the bill was just over £30 for both of us - including starters, main courses and drinks. We had two original Nepalese specialities and loved the food (though we couldn't finish it all and asked to pack). The restaurant is located just to the back of the Union Square shopping centre, on the right hand side and you can park either at the un.squre car park or on one of the streets nearby. It is really a pity that this place remains still not very well known! We will be back soon for sure.

We enjoyed an early meal here on a Friday evening prior to a visit to the theatre. Gurka chef opens at 5pm and it is easy to park in the Union Square carpark ( its just oposite the exit on to Palmerston ). We asked for advice on what to choose as we hadn't had nepalise food before. Everything we tried was great especially the dumplings from the starters and very reasonable prices
We will definately go here again

Might not look great from the outside but please go not let that fool you! The food & service are fantastic. Staff are attentive, but at the same time know to leave you in peace. Mixed pakoras are always a winner (haggis yum!) £40 2 courses and 4 drinks can't be bad in my books! Well worth a try

Had a takeaway from the Gurkha chef on a Saturday night. It was terrible - bland main courses, tough naan breads. It was however very cheap. Maybe this was an 'off night' and possibly the food is better in the restaurant but we will not be back to try either. Rishis on George St is far superior and just as good value.
