Supebly fitted out roadside inn but by passed by newer road, so may be a little difficult for the stranger to find. Superb food at a very reasonable price and well worth a visit.

Food consistently good. Interesting menu and friendly, efficient staff. Very good value. Place is spotless and very light and airy. Plenty of parking and no loud music!

We are regulars of the Four Mile and have always enjoyed our time there but on the last few occasions the service has let it down badly. On two occasions now we have been served with our main courses and offered condiments and then left sitting for ages while we await them. On both occasions we have had to chase up staff to 'remind' them that we were still waiting for them (once we even had to leave our seats to go hunting for them) and by the time we received them our food had cooled significantly. On our last occasion there, again due to the lack of interest by staff, we had to leave our seats once again to place a drinks order at the bar. Even on asking for the bill we gave up after a fifteen minute wait and went and paid at the desk. A lovely place to eat but they need to sharpen up the service. We won't be hurrying back - life's too short!

Having been accustomed to the carvery it used to be, I always find it a little dissapointing. When I went a couple of years ago and found the managers to be useless and too busy chatting to deal with anything, but credit to the owner I believe these managers have now changed. I cannot fault either the choice of meals of the quality of them, both are excellent and reasonably priced. From past experience I found the staff to be more concerned about their plans for the night than the service of their customers, but haven't been in about 6 months so that may have changed. The restaurant is lovely though, and the food is delicious, so I would definitely go back, even if the staff need a bit of a kick sometimes.
