“Water and water and more water”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2012

Never has a lake been so much more than just a water body to me. A bus drive along the beautiful Scot country side, by the village of Aberfoyle and finally the Loch. Got comfy in a boat (which serves authentic scotch and lovely wine). And went on lazy-sailing across the lake, feasted my eyes on the li'l islands and the rare birds.. middle of the lake is like being in the middle of an ocean. Brave enough to fight the wind? Go up on the boat deck and breathe in an awe-inspiring view.

“Absolutely beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2011

Been to many places in the world. This was superb. The trip was organised by Pierce Kavanagh in Urlingford and they were terrific. The hotel, the coach driver, everything was perfect. Recommend it to anyone.

P.S. Even the haggis was good!!

“Breathtaking cruise of Beautiful Loch Lomond in Tarbet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2011

We boarded the Lomond Cruise boat and headed out for a wonderful sightseeing tour of the Loch. Even tho it was a little overcast (isn't it always in Scotland!!??), it was beautiful. Our captain was very entertaining and a great tour guide. I've always loved the song associated with Loch Lomond and to actually cruise the Loch was a wonderful experience.

“The Highlands and Lowlands of Scotland.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2010

This is only a brief review of a brief trip taking in Loch Lomond, Loch Long and Trossach National Parks. We were staying in Arrochar and so took coach trips to get around the area. We visited a few villages along the way including Callander, Aberfoyle, Luss, and of course Loch Lomond.
Right away let me say there were some pretty places and tranquil scene's on our journey but cramming so much travelling in to 3 days took its toll and I'm afraid at times there was just too much water, trees, mountains and grass.

Most of the villages had shops, selling a range of goods from glass to kilts, some reasonalble but many, expensive. Coffee/tea shops were in abundance but the highlight of the trips was the tranquillity and serenity of Loch Lomond.
Even though in places it was a hive of activitiy, from boat trips to shopping centres, there was an overiding calm about the Loch, as indeed the others we saw.

But as I have said, a 3 day trip, including travel to and from Yorkshire, is a lot of coach travel and stopping off at so many places meant they seemed to merge as you pass miles and miles of hills and valley's.
It may be better if you are travelling in this area to stop and smell the flowers so to speak, if you can, ours was but a fleeting visit and after a while it was all much of a muchness.
