Description: The Exchange Restaurant and Wine Bar is a family friendly, informal restaurant located centrally near the Peace Bridge in the busy town centre. Established 10 years ago, we have become a well known attraction on the riverside. We serve a comprehensive range of good food, including vegetarian options, and quality wine. All of our food is locally sourced and freshly produced on the premises by professional chefs. The establishment has been awarded a Five Star hygiene rating.

“Excellent food”

Good value for food, was really nice but my peppered rump steak came out over cooked even though asked for it rare. Apart from this I would recommend this place as an ideal spot to eat out. even though the steak was over cooked it was still nice enough not to complain about it. also one of the few places in derry that sells Coors light on tap.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

This city centre located restaurant has got it all. Our party of six arrived at the restaurant at 6pm on Saturday evening and we received a warm welcome, having to wait an hour for a table didnt cause us any problems. No reservations seems to work very well for this establishment, and it operates like clockwork. We sat at the bar and had some drinks and the bar tender was very friendly and knowlegeable about the drinks and Heineken technology they were using. The menu had something to suit all tastes and I am fussy when it comes to my food. The food was fresh and tasty and 6 clean plates went back. I cant recommend this restaurant highly enough, well trained friendly staff accompanied with the high standard of food and a great atmosphere certainly attracts the crowds. Keep it up. Cant wait to make a return visit.

“Excellent”
Reviewed February 2, 2013

This restaurant always delivers an excellent and consistent meal. I have visited many times but feel it needs to be recognised for its excellent standard especially during City of Culture, there are other restaurants nearby but these do not deliver the same quality. You will not be disappointed.
Be prepared for a slight wait on Friday/Saturday nights, this is enjoyable as there is usually a great buzz.

One of Derry's best places to eat all the reviews are correct you won't be disappointed. I have gone 4 times for lunch and numerous times for dinner but book if your going at the weekend. The food is always tasty quick and served with a smile and a northern charm go for a walk across the peace bridge after Derry is a real treat for foodies lots of places to eat in this city of culture make sure exchange is one of them

“The place to go”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

This restaurant is considered one of the best in the city. It is right in the centre of Derry- a beautiful walled city. The restaurant is right by a lovely riverside walk- ideal to build up an appetite beforehand or to walk off your meal afterwards. I left not one single morsel on my plate. The food was beautifully served by friendly staff to our party of ten.
This is the year to visit since Derry is the UK City of Culture 2013. Only disadvantage is that they only take bookings for larger groups and at busy times small numbers may have to wait for a table but it is well worth the wait.
