once again a fantastic stay with seamus and helen,,,,we have known seamus and helen since they first opened this b/b,,,,what has changed,,,only the decor everything else is as good if not better over the years,,,,very accomodating and nothing is a bother ,,which makes our stay very relaxed and homely,,,have stayed in the big hotels but they don't have the personal touch which you get with these two wonderfull propietors,,,,
hope to see you again before the end of the year !!!!!!!!

As someone based in Belfast who works in Derry, I've tried a number of B&Bs in the area in the past but now I also stay here. For location, atmosphere, size and condition of the rooms and the great breakfast it beats other B&Bs in Derry hands down. Pluses include access to a free internet workstation for the use of guests. Hospitality of the owners and staff are second to none.

Great little B&B with welcoming, friendly staff. Ideally located within five minutes walk to the historic Derry Walls, the Bogside Musuem and historical walking tours. Derry's famous live musical pubs all within five minutes walk. A great base for your tour of Derry and travelling into nearby Donegal

Came to Abbey B&B for just a night, booked in advance sight unseen and couldn't have been happier upon arriving at Abbey. We arrived quite late in the evening, Seamus was very helpful and friendly and set out biscuits and tea for us., the room was also lovely; nice comfy bed, clean, had a hair dryer and a TV with plenty of stations and good reception. Also the free internet was nice as we had some plans to make and needed it. Paula's breakfast was grand, very tasty and filling - she cooked my eggs perfectly.

After doing my typical research I chose the Abbey as our B&B for Derry. It was the perfect choice! Seamus, Helen and Paula were all so helpful. We got lost on our way through Derry but after an iphone call and the worst description possible of where we were Seamus drove over to find us. We were so close and yet so far. After our arrival we explained our interests, he gave us a map and with some written suggestions we set out. That map was very handy and his suggestions were right on. Helen did the same for us when we want to drive over to Donegal. Paula was extremely informative about the political history of Derry. Everything was within walking distance and we (2 middle-aged women) felt perfectly safe walking around at midnight after our night of Irish music with the locals. I wish we'd had more time there. If you have an interest in the Bogside this is the place to stay! I'd return tomorrow if I could.

Just got back from Ireland and stayed at the Abbey B&B for 3 nights. Only planned on staying for two, was hard to leave....Seamus and Paula were fantastic, gave us lots of great suggestions for pubs and restaurants. The bed was super comfy and we slept very well there. The breakfast in the mornings kept us going for hours!! Would most definitely stay there again.
