We made a last minute booking with the hotel,From arriving to leaving we were looked after perfectly.we had a problem with a hairdryer it was sorted within minutes, who can ask for better.
The pool was fine the food excellent and the hotel is ideal for a stroll into the town on an evening. We will return again.

I've been to Derry multiple times and have previously stayed at DaVinci's. However, this time I chose City Hotel, and I wasn't disappointed.

Our room was spacious and well decorated. Apparently it had been recently renovated. We had a great view of the River Foyle.

The food, both in the lobby bar and in the restaurant was excellent.

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.

Derry is a wonderful historic city... a well-kept secret in Ireland. The nightlife is great, and there are lots of great restaurants.

We stayed at the City Hotel in Derry for three nights in late August. Our room was wonderful, with comfortable beds and a great view of the water.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bar and resteraunt were also amazing.

The hotel is situated within walking distance of everything. We didn't even use a taxi service during our stay. There are plenty of handy nightclubs and restaurants. Some of our favorites we visited were The Exchange, The Derby, and Paeder O'Donnell's.

The city itself had a lot to see, tons of history, and it really is the walled city. The community seems to have embraced tourism, and you certainly won't be disappointed.

We would love to go back, and next time would take a trip out to Donegal as well.

A special thanks to Manager Kerrin who made our trip extra enjoyable.

Myself and four girlfriends went to stay for weekend in the City Hotel. It was a great deal - £99 b&b and one evening meal. When we arrived in the hotel, we were greeted by a lovely young receptionist who was extremely friendly and helpful. We had three rooms booked, one we were not very happy about, but they were more than happy to change it. Our evening meal was great and we were waited on by happy, friendly staff. Breakfast was a similar experience. Our rooms were clean & spacious with comfortable beds and were also air-conditioned. A must to go to if you are staying here is the Mandarin Place which is within two minutes walking distance from hotel along the river front. Go on a Saturday night when the owner dresses up as Elvis and there is karaoke. What a busy restaurant. Food is just fabulous, atmosphere brilliant and we had a super evening. We had booked in advance. Not sure if you need to but it is extremely busy. Came back to our hotel and there was music in the foyer. We bopped the night away. What a laugh we had. Our experience in Derry was great. The people are very friendly and welcoming and we will definitely be back to the City Hotel and the Mandarin Palace.

I just spent 2 days there, I cant really blame the hotel because it was hot those 2 days ,But They Had a wedding there with guest overnight and at least 2-3 CIE Tours. The hotel was full ! there is no airconditioning above the 3rd floor!!! and very little fans available.I was on the 3rd floor luckly with A/C.My daughter (who is pregnant)and her husband was on the 6th with no A/C.I told the front desk I would put them in my room for the night untill they have extra rooms the next day. They said that was fine but they dont have any cotts to provide for her. After a long and heated confrontation with the Manager, and after going back to my room very frustrated with nothing solved a1/2 hour later the front desk called my room and they some how found a fan for my daughter so they could go back to there room. The next and last day they gave my daughter another room, that night they went to there room on the 3rd floor and they had no A/C !!!! we left the next day very dissapointed. The employees of the hotel were all young and very polite and pleasant. The food was good.Other than the manager being very unprepared for a full hotel regardless of the unexpected heat, It was an ok stay. While you are there be sure to go on the tour of free derry and ask for Micheal Martin for a tour guide! I Promise you will be moved.

We just spent the weekend there. We got a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids. We were on a weekend special and had 2 nights with breakfast and one dinner. The bedroom was spacious with 2 double beds which were very UNcomfortable. I didnt sleep well at all -- nor did my husband and kids, This is the most disappointing part of staying in a hotel. No mini-bar. Decent enough TV. Old decor. There was some construction outside on the Saturday morning and while it was not the hotels fault it was warm out and so very, very stuffy inside with no provision for air fans etc. So I wouldn't go back. The food was decent even if the service lacked. My husbands pre-dinner drink arrived in the middle of dinner! The staff are very friendly and thats a big plus. It was good value for the weekend special we had but seriously they need to check out new beds!

We stayed at this hotel for five days and the service was fantastic, right from booking in at 11pm when the car park was full and we were able to use a reserved space at the front of the hotel, to checking out. We have not stayed in any hotel before where all members of staff were so friendly and accomodating. The family room we stayed in had two double beds and ample room, was very clean and kept that way daily. The leisure facilities were excellent and enjoyed by all our family. Restaurant meals could not be faulted. We would not hesitate to go back.
