The Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall
Reviewed June 16, 2012

This museum was the high light of our trip and I would say this was largely due to our guide, he was an Apprentice Boy since a young lad. when we approached the door he asked if we knew where we were from then he explained everything about the Apprentice Boys history his personal history as one and the Orange Order it was very interesting. He then directed us on to other places not to miss.

Tells the story of the Seige of Derry very well, with a tour of what could be the best meeting rooms in any part of Ireland, when walking round the Walls of Derry the hall is well worth a visit. The hall is open June to October, ask for a personnel tour from one of the guides.

Often overlooked, but an essential piece in the city's history. Whereas the Museum of Free Derry shows the nationalist/republican modern history, the Apprentice Boys Memorial Hall shows the Unionist/Loyalist and mid-history of the city. Book in advance.
