The murals all around helped to solidify in my mind the history of the area. Real, not just something we read about.

“Love the Murals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

This is one of the best murals here, but the entire block is definitely worth checking out. The murals are extremely well done and tell a very moving story. Well worth taking the time to walk the 300 yards.

“Battle of the Bogside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

The boy in the gas mask is probably the most striking of the republican murals, and can be found behind, and just to the right of Free Derry Corner. The image portrays a young boy holding a petrol bomb during the battle of the Bogside in 1969, and is wearing a gas mask to protect himself from the effects of CS gas which was fired at the rioters by the RUC.
