If you fancy a day out in the country and a wonder in the quietness of the woods then Ness is a must see. And dont miss the waterfall (the largest in Northern Ireland)

the woods has a series of walks that cross over the stream that runs through the woods. Its a great place to take kids for a day or a romantic walk. Remember to bring your camera you will get some great woodland and waterfall pics

I am a native to Derry/Londonderry and this is one of my favourite places to walk. My dog loves it too! Just last year, facilities were improved and there is now a wildlife education room along with toilets which have disabled access. There are a selection of walks, long or shorter depending how much time and energy ye have. The Ness Woods is now linked to Ervey Woods and there is ample free parking. There are picnic tables if you want to dine al fresco ( and the north west weather allows you!) There is a beautiful waterfall and wooden bridges to cross. Dogs must be kept on a lead. It can be muddy in places at times so wellies or hiking boots are recommended when there has been a good bit of rain.
