Leaving Derry in the train on a Saturday or Sunday to travel to the town of Portrush is a great experience if you are a child of for a day trip. Rumbling along the banks of river Foyle through the tunnels past Downhill,Castlerock, Portstewart and into Portrush (Scenery in abundance all the way) visiting Barry'S Amusements with all the glorious rides and fun things to do for children.Finishing your day with a bag of chips and a bottle of pop from the Italian chip shop, walking down by the shore on beautiful beaches to see the waves crashing against the rocks what a delight.
Back to the train for the return journey to Derry, boy did we sleep well that night.

I always wanted to visit Londonderry and me and my wife decided to go. We had a nice time there and may come back in the future. About the hotel, nice staff and very helpful.

this is the worst kept rail line in the uk. The rolling stock are older than me and there is very little in the way of amenities.

In saying that the scenery is tremendous...

NIR dont know what an asset they have, if it was used properly...
