“Free Derry, NI”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

When touring Ireland, don't miss Derry. Profound history occurred there and because of the sacrifices that were made in the name of civil rights, it is a free and peaceful city.

“Stop, think, pray”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

This will bring tears to your eyes and anger to your heart. The story is told in pictures on the walls of the buildings and boards along the way. It is a living memorial to those whose lives are changed forever by the bloodshed of war. Lest we forget.

“Paid homage to those killed”

A sad reminder of things past and a tragedy that should never had happened. Worth seeing combined with a tour of the Bogside and the Free. Derry Museum

“Educational for foreigners, healing for the Irish”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

For those of us who only heard bits and pieces of the "troubles" this was our first step into truly understanding the conflict and the pain. For those living here, it was a step towards peace and healing. A great, if not somewhat troubling, stop on our trip.

“A cold monument”
Reviewed January 5, 2014

As a visitor to Derry- this memorial did not mean as much to me as it did to the people of Derry.
It remembers an unhappy incident in the past.
We must come back to the present.
The design of the monument is not a thing of great beauty like the mall in London or the Viet Nam memorial in Washington.
