“Wonderful wedding at Beech Hill”
Reviewed May 31, 2010

My husband and I held our wedding reception in the Beech Hill in April. The whole process of planning with them was a total pleasure from start to finish and I never had a moments doubt that the day would be special.
However the hotel staff and management went above and beyond the call of duty to help make our wedding day truly wonderful. All the guests raved about the fabulous country house hotel, grounds and setting. The food was excellent and the service and attention to detail were second to none. We had a great day with a fab party afterwards and the management and bar staff were extremely accommodating throughout. Patsy kept a firm hand on the tiller all day and ensured that everything went more than smoothly. Our bridal suite was perfect and we had two amazing nights sleep there.
Expect more business in future from many of our guests... Five stars Beech Hill!

We went to the beech hill hotel for afternoon tea and were very disappointed by the quality of service and standard of food. Once the tea was served there was no follow up service from the waiting staff, we were forced to change the chipped crockery ourselves from the trolley in the corner of the room. I had to walk around to the reception to settle the bill and when I pointed out the cakes we recieved were stale and recycled from a previous wedding or birthday party due to the give away decorative icing on top, the staff were not interested and unwilling to explain the lackluster service. I was not expecting tea at the ritz, but I was expecting professional service worthy of a four star hotel. In short avoid this hotel and take your custom elsewhere.

Well located in the countryside,, and surriunded by an estate with scenic short walks, this hotel is still very close to the city of Derry.
the welcome, friendliness and helpfulness of the Staff are outstanding.
The public rooms, especially the dining room are comfortable and well appointed.
The bedrooms have ecery amenity, always with a comfotable bed and often antique furniture.
Leading by example here is the deligtful owner/Masnager, Patsy

Wonderful welcome to historic house. Real family feel yet with modern facilities. Lovely location with 9-hole golf course next door. We had beautiful weather, and enjoyed escorted walking tour of Derry's walls ( departing from the top of the Foyleside shopping centre.) Great food in restaurant and bar, and lovely grounds to stroll round. Friendly, helpful staff and huge bed!

This was our second visit to Beech Hill Hotel and I am looking forward to an excuse to go back for a 3rd time. Love the food and the choice they have made to locally source, where possible. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I notice they have an event on the 22nd April - a tribute to 'Fawlty Towers' - this should be great and I will definately be keeping an eye out for reviews. I must also mention Jake, their 3 legged dog, he is a hoot and keeps busy running around the grounds. Would recommend.

Superb 3 night return visit to Beech Hill was as usual relaxing. Suite 50 with lounge and King size bedroom is well furnished and contains a mix of antique furniture and some modern features including 2 large LCD TVs. Food was delivered swiftly to the room on two occasions. A meal in the dining room was of suberb quality. I enjoyed the organic vegetable soup followed by a main course of rack of lamb and locally grown vegetables. The home made ice cream and water ice is to die for. The lounge in Beechill is large yet cosy with fires at both ends. I particularly like the high ceilings and ornate plasterwork featuring rams heads. I also had a walk around the extensive wooded gardens which cover about 30 acres. The meandering river with 2 waterfalls and a water wheel is well worth a look. I always find the staff and proprietors Patsy and Seamus are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Looking forward to coming back in the Spring.

The service we received was great from I first emailed them asking if our dog could stay until we left at the end of our stay. Very helpful. The room was very big, loads of space even with our big dog in it! The walks were good in the hotel grounds - we parked on the Friday afternoon and did not move the car until we left on the Sunday morning so I cannot comment on the location other than it is handy from Larne - we went to relax and that is what we did! Had a massage as a treat on the Saturday and it was so lovely. Liked the relaxed, country feel, the walks in the woods and the food. One tiny little thing - there was too little chicken in our chicken sandwich on the first night.
