Stayed on Sunday 25th August, 2 parents & 2 kids under 6yrs.

Free and plentiful parking

Welcome at Front Desk upon Arrival by the Duty Manager, Pat was warm and genuine. Pat made a fuss of the Kids. Good start. Interconnecting rooms were ideal, of sufficient proportions and spotlessly clean. Beds were exceptionally comfortable (with a pillow top mattress!).

Dinner was quick and efficient in arriving, which helped keep the boys occupied. Service was then suitably paced to enjoy. Menu had plenty of variety. Food was well presented and tasted wonderful; primarily of locally sourced produce. Particularly enjoyed the Armagh Apple and Kearney Blue Salad with Walnuts etc. Duck breast was tender and well seasoned with a lovely orange glaze and Homemade Cheesecake was smooth, rich and creamy.

Aaron the Restaurant Manager was skilfully managing a full restaurant (on a Sunday Night) and ensuring we had a very pleasurable meal.

Mary our dinner Waitress was particularly helpful and provided a map, directions and list of local attractions for the kids for the following day.

After dinner, a lovely stroll by the river (just 250 metres from the Hotel), overlooking the Walled City, allowing the boys the opportunity to burn off some steam before retiring to the most comfortable hotel beds!

Breakfast was great quality, with plenty of choice.

Will be back.

Myself and my partner stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly they recommended things to do and places to see. the food at the hotel was beautiful. We had a deal two course and big bottle of wine per couple only 35 pound. I would definitely stay here again

Just returned from an overnight stay at Everglades and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were made to feel so welcome. From reception, to the bar and restaurant, the staff were so polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We dined in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious as was breakfast the next morning. A thoroughly relaxing break in wonderful City.

I concur with the other reviews on the location and comfort of the hotel, although the bathroom in our room was extremely small. You had to close the door to even get to the sink and there was just a corner shower, not a tub. Perhaps these are just the rooms they make available to tour groups, so booking a room on your own make result in something better.

Perhaps they were just having a "bad day," but the breakfast for our group was a disaster. There was only one person on duty for the buffet. The plates were located at the opposite end of the line from where one would pick up the food. Tea and coffee were not part of the buffet, so had to be served to each table...but again, there was only one person in attendance for the entire room. And she was just standing at the door as people came in...not serving tables. After about ten minutes (we had our food, but still no sign of hot beverages), I got up and asked her about tea and coffee. Her response: They're coming! And she remained standing where she'd been.

The toaster was one where you fed the bread in at the top and it came out toasted at the bottom. As one of the women in our group was making toast, a fire started in the bottom of the toaster because a piece of bread had gotten caught as it rotated around the toaster. The woman had to call out several times to get the attention of the single attendant...and was told that "someone" must have put in their break incorrectly. The toaster caught fire several more times while we were sitting there, with no apparent concern from the attendant. People finally decided to avoid making toast. The tea and coffee finally arrived after everyone had finished their food.

Again, I don't want to blast the hotel for this because clearly, people have had an excellent experience there. I just wish our group could say the same.

My wife and myself picked this hotel for our City of Culture 2013 stay and as soon as we arrived knew we had made the right choice. Every member of staff were very polite and extremely helpful. Our room was excellent and had great views out over the Foyle. The food was second to none, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The manager was able to point us in the right direction for all our best sightseeing and all the events going on.
A fantastic weekend in a 1st hotel.
If your for Derry, this is the spot!!!!!!
