First time staying at Kribben Cottages. Stayed over the new year for 4 nights and I have to say the cottages are 5 star all the way. All the cottages are finished to such a high standard and the underfloor heating means you are always warm. We used the cottage as a base to go walking into the Mournes and it's the prefect place to head off from. There are some great take aways and restaurants in the area if you don't fancy cooking but the kitchen is well equipped should you want to. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom/On suite are both finished to a high standard. The water pressure also means you will get a great shower. Bonus is the fact that you can bring your dogs and a lot of the other people down at the same time as us seemed to have their dogs down too. Looking forward to going back down for another break soon. Thanks

This was my second visit to kribben cottages. The first time with friends and this time with family. The cottages are very homely and have every mod con required. The owner Myrtle is very welcoming and her welcoming eggs and scones are a real treat. The cottages are at the bottom of the mourne mountains and the views are stunning. There is plenty to do in the area with amazing walks and beautiful beaches nearby. Will definitely be back.

“Outstanding accommodation”
Reviewed November 2, 2016 for a stay in October 2016

This was a beautiful cottage with amazing views of the mountains out one window and the coast out of the other. It was well equipped, spacious, warm and everything we wanted. The owner was friendly and helpful. The children spent hours playing in the secure garden, especially the sandpit. A really special place.

“A little slice of heaven between the Mournes and the Sea”
Reviewed November 2, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Crannoge was everything we'd hoped it might be! Spotlessly clean, comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, well-managed and wonderfully situated.
My husband and I travelled with another couple. The gents enjoyed the many fabulous golf courses within easy driving distance of the cottage, whilst the ladies partook of the lovely walks, right from the door or within a few minutes' drive (Tollymore Forest Park is highly recommended), or visited the National Trust properties near the guys' golf destinations. Myrtle was wonderfully accomodating, from start to finish, answering questions and organizing our rental efficiently before we arrived, then greeting these weary, trans-Atlantic travelers with a hearty smile, home-made scones, fresh eggs and milk and a plethora of advice about dining, local hikes, etc. When I pleaded a hot water bottle and second hair dryer, they were there to greet us in time for our first night's stay. The beds were most comfortable, our (main) bathroom was lavish and there was plenty of hot water for everyone. The little stove burns beautifully, and was much appreciated on the only rather wet day of our stay. The neighbors are worthy of note: sweet-faced Holstein heifers who peered as us with great curiosity when we went out into the garden. The views from the mountains immediately behind the cottage are well worth the hike!

“Wonderful cottage in a beautiful location”

This was our second trip to Kribben cottages and we had another wonderful stay.
We particularly liked Crannoge as the views from the rear of the property were stunning.
The cottages are very clean and well equipped for a self catering holiday. We love the fact that is on one floor as it makes it so much easier with a young child.
There is a small play area and the gates mean it is very safe for children to play here.
Newcastle and Kilkeel are short drives away.
We are already planning our third stay and can't wait to go back!

From the minute we arrived at Kribeen Cottages we were met by Myrtle, the owner who was never far away for any questions or queries. She also provides fresh baked scones and shortbread when you arrive!!!! The cottage itself is spectacular, the décor, the attention to detail, the setting...... This is a self catering holiday more than worthy of 5 stars and was perfect for our young busy family who refused to leave! The electronic gate ensures that children are safe within the cottage gardens and a small sandpit and swing does keep them occupied for a while. The smaller cottages ( we stayed in Crannoige) are perfect for toddlers as they are all on one level. Thank you Myrtle, your endless thought and effort is visible every where and our only regret is that we could not stay longer.

These cottages are stunning, finished to perfection with an attention to detail that is beyond what is expected in a self-catering. Small things like the landscaping and sandpit and swings for children made this perfect for a family. The cottage was spotlessly clean with high quality fittings, solid furniture, amazing log burner. Felt like a home from home.

The hosts are very welcoming and have done a super job in creating the best self catering I have seen in ireland at a great price.
