We spent three nights of wonderful gourmet dinners in this historic house setting. Host David Corbett, gourmet chef, gentleman farmer, horse trainer and longtime polo player just can’t do enough for you. Lots of small touches as an evening fire, spring water and fruit basket in our room. Make sure you locate all of the hidden doors and passageways, as well as identify the three major constructions that now comprise Tyrella House. We loved all of the estate pets!

My wife chose Tyrella House as the first stop on our trip through Ireland, and our only regret is that we had only a single night to spare. Due to a misdirecting Google search, we looked for it in the wrong town and ended up arriving very late (10:30 PM). David Corbett was extremely accommodating and showed us to our beautifully appointed suite.

We were greeted in the morning with a lovely sunny day and enjoyed an in-room cup of tea before breakfast. On our arrival in the dining room, breakfast was made to order with tea, fresh juice, and wheaten bread. David makes a potato pancake as well, which is a feature unique to Northern Ireland.

Tyrella house features lovely grounds and a great deal of horse related activities. You can go for a canter on the nearby beach, or indulge in a polo lesson, or a more relaxed walking trek in the nearby countryside.

As my wife and I are horse people, we were particularly sad that our trip schedule only allowed a night here. We will definitely return, and highly recommend the comfort and hospitality we found.
