“Fantastic stay!!”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

We went to our friends wedding at the mill and had a fantastic time. From we arrived until we left the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough to help. The food was amazing and the room that we stayed in was lovely and cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Hats off to all the staff at the mill for making it a brilliant experience, we would highly recommend staying here :-)

Attended our Grandsons wedding reception on the 27th Dec 2013. Very wet day ,however the warmth and welcome we received at Ballydugan Mill made up for the weather.
Staff were excellent. The food was excellent. Main course was Sirloin of beef, everyone commented on the tenderness of the meat. With 100 plus guests, that speaks for itself. Many stayed overnight and enjoyed a hearty breakfast
Would certainly recommend.

Room Tip: We had a self contained apartment which was very good

We got married in the Mill on Saturday 28th December 2013, words can not describe how perfectly amazing our day was. Maureen, Noel, Mary and the gang are the most accommodating and friendly group of people you can hope to meet. Nothing stresses them, nothing is too hassle and they are more than willing to help out in any way they can- at any time. We had a large group of 23/24 year old lads/ ladies staying and Maureen had them in her pocket in no time and it's the first time I've seen them get to bed at 3.30am without an argument- Maureen thank you for everything and also for answering all my stupid pointless emails in the run up to the wedding and never making me feel like a pest or a complete mad woman. You are really made to feel special and like the only couple in the world. The staff mingled well with the guests and at one point I even saw the poor gentleman from behind the bar getting pulled round for a group photo which he was happy to do.
The food was out of this word and the Chief, Andy, was a complete joy he was always out and about chatting and it was the personal touches like this that makes the mill so amazing. All our guests kept saying about the atmosphere and that is because the staff put everyone at ease and you are welcomed into the family as soon as you set foot over the door.

The mill itself (and the granary) are both stunning, Noel and his family have done the most amazing job with the place, it was lovely so many of our guests got speaking to Noel and were fascinated about the story behind all the work. Everyone kept commenting on the beauty inside and outside- it truly is a magical place.

I literally can not speak highly enough of this place and I am trying to convince all my single friends and family to get married there so I can go back. A word of advice to anyone looking at potential wedding venues, is even if you think it's not for you- go have a look, the mill and it's staff will enchant you within seconds.

It was my dream wedding and although I thought I would be sad it was over it was too fantastic to be sad and I have such amazing memories. We are going to be a constant presence at Sunday lunches from now on( the food is too good not to be) and will definitely return each year on our anniversary if possible.

Thank you all again so so much, we can never thank you all enough. Without you all at the Mill our day wouldn't have been half as special, thank you for the crack and thank you for being part of our big day :):).

Love Hanna and Andy McIlveen

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Mill back in March this year. It was the third potential venue we visited and we immediately fell in love with the building itself and the warm, friendly atmosphere created by all the staff (especially Maureen,Noel,Elaine and Mary!).
We were so well looked after from the outset and the planning of our wedding celebration seemed effortlessly easy with the help of all the staff.
We had several Sunday lunches at The Mill during the run up to our wedding and the food was outstanding every time, always impressed!
We really cannot thank the staff enough for helping to create such a beautiful day for us and our guests.
We regularly return for lunch in front of the gorgeous open fire and always receive the same warm welcome.
Full of character and the best service, a beautiful place to visit.

Ok, so we've just celebrated our first wedding anniversary and realised that we never wrote a review, until now.
Quite simply, The Mill is the most incredible place. From the first moment we walked through the door, we were made to feel at home. Noel, the proprietor, is the most wonderful character. He told us the story of The Mill and how he has transformed it into the beautiful building it is today. And then there's Maureen. Maureen ran our wedding, was the MC, and even helped with the engagement! (Upon contacting Maureen a few days before I was planning to propose at The Mill, Maureen went out of her way to help - she arranged for the chef to come in specially that day to cook for us, as well as play along with the plan).
If you haven't already been here, The Mill is the most charming of places. A friendly, warm, welcoming atmosphere, full of character - we really couldn't imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else. Oh, and did we mention the food?! Absolutely amazing.
Aside from the uniqueness of the building, the whole team at The Mill go a long way to help make it so incredible. They really can't do enough for you. We even ended the night sitting round a table with them, sharing a drink and chatting.
All of our guests who stayed at the venue remarked on the brilliant accommodation: warm, relaxing, well-equipped rooms. And the breakfast the next day - a gorgeous full Ulster fry!
We really can't thank the team at The Mill enough for making our big day so special. We will always have the fondest memories of our experience here.

Stopped at the mill for a friends wedding and had a lovely time. The wedding food was fantastic, the staff excellent and the setting lovely. Our room was a twin but really two double rooms linked with an ensuite shower/toilet and a second toilet, just could have done with an easy chair and an extra blanket.
