“Best place to stay”

Online reviews are sometimes dubious -- were they written by the B&B owners themselves or their friends? Or just how nice were the accommodations?
Having just returned from staying at Dundrum House, I can definitely say this is a place to visit. Liz and Larry are two of the kindest hosts we met on our 10-day trip. They made us feel welcome from the first moment we arrived (even worked with Aer Lingus to secure two lost bags). The rooms were spacious, welcoming, tastefully appointed and very clean. And where do I begin on Larry's bacon for breakfast? He said some find it too salty -- but not this traveler! It was awesome as was the rest of the traditional Irish breakfast. Larry also has a wonderful sense of humor and he is very generous with his time. They have recently opened a portion of their home for self-catering. It is very updated for a home of this age. He took great pride in telling us about the renovation.
As my husband and I sat outside one evening, we had an opportunity to talk with Liz and she is a delight as well. It is obvious that they have put not only their money but their hearts and souls into their B&B. If you are looking for a place where you will feel welcome, get good value for your money, and enjoy home cooked, farm fresh meals, Dundrum House should be on your list.
This B&B is in close proximity to the town of Armagh. Make sure you ask for directions down to the viaduct -- it is a very impressive view at sunset. St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral is worth seeing in Armagh as well.
Enjoy your stay with Liz and Larry and their family!

After travelling through Northern Ireland and experiencing some pretty ordinary B&B's. We were blessed to have found this one.

Liz and Larry were the most accomodating, warm, welcoming and friendly people I've ever met overseas.

The room was beautiful and comfortable. The breaksfast was wonderful and the service and warmth of this place, is really something to be experienced. No wonder, they are so popular.

A true Irish welcome and a winner in all ascepts!

Thank you!

My husband & I had the aboslute pleasure of spending 5 days at Dundrum house in Tassagh Northern Ireland just outside Armagh. This completely restored 1700's manor house was absolutely beautiful but the hosts Liz & Larry Nugent made the stay exceptionally special. The rooms are warm and beautifully decorated. Liz is a wonderful cook and breakfast was always a treat. Larry is a wonderful host going out of his way to make you feel welcome and to help with any questions or needs you may have. They really made our vacation much more special than it would have been otherwise. We will definetly recommend this B&B to everyone as a must visit on your trip to Northern Ireland.

I booked this accommodation via direct email to the establishment. Liz Nugent was so nice to deal with over the Internet and her husband Larry, what can we say about Larry, a great host with a great sense of humor and great stories to tell.

We were stunned by the beautiful view when we drove pass the huge metal gate, the winding driveway passed the sheep to drive up to the beautiful, impressive grand house built in the 1700's. I couldn't believe we found this place!! Liz greeted us at the door, the rooms (a double and a triple) were clean, beautiful and huge with 2 windows (in each room) looking out to the front. The bathrooms were huge by B & B's standard. We were served tea and snacks after we settled into our room. When we came back in the evening, we met Larry and two fellow travellers. We were offered drinks or tea and we had greatest time chatting up with our host in their lovely guest room.

Larry served us breakfast the next morning in their beautiful dining room. I wished we had stayed for another couple of days. Liz's quite busy with their young children and Larry does take care of their farm and yet, they managed to make us feel like we missed out by only staying for one night.

The only kink was we weren't informed that they did not take credit card at that time though they were working on it. Liz did not ask for credit card information to secure the room during booking, so maybe that was a hint then. We were only in North Ireland for one day so we did not bring any cash with us but easy going Larry was fine with EURO. I came away feeling a bit guilty as with the exchange I figured I cheated him 2 pounds!!

Our younger sons had a blast playing on their children playground equipment.

We would go back any time, in a heartbeat!! Highly recommend Dundrum House for anyone going through the area.
