“Pleasant and comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2014

Stayed one night with family.
The position is good at walking distance both to the marina and to the town centre.
The room was confortable, the breakfast plentiful.
Our host helped us with luggage, and gave us breakfast very early in the morning because we had to go to Dublin Airport.
Not far from Giant's Causeway.

We loved our two night stay here mid cycle ride around NI. We arrived in glorious weather which deteriorated overnight to wind and heavy rain. So spent our day off mouching round Ballycastle which is lovely town full of interesting information. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a large lounge for guests. Our hosts were great really helpful - even lending us a map so we could change our planned cycle route on the day we left, to one that was less exposed to the elements which were still raging. Breakfasts were excellent (ask for the porridge - it is really creamy and scrummy).

What a perfect place to stay for a few days, or like us almost a week.
The owners are very friendly, they really tray to make you feel home.
With advise about where to go for a good walk.
And, when we wantend to know something about timescedules for bus or train, they look it up for you.
My friend had forgotten her coat in the bus, the owners phoned about it and picked it up for her.
A very good and quiet room, a perfect breakfast.
So, absolutely a place to stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in the hotel part, also we stayed one night in the B&B. Both were excellent!

We stayed here for 3 night's. Room was good size, clean but pretty basic. Hoast was very friendly & provided lots of useful info for exploring the Causeway coast. BUT room was overpriced, you can get more for less elsewhere Ireland

My wife (Sheila) and I stayed at the An Caislean guest house from Saturday 7th. September to Saturday 14th. September 2013. Mr and Mrs White made us very welcome. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Every morning there was a fantastic choice for breakfast. I would recommend this guest house to all without hesitation excellent value for money. I would like to return but probably time is against me as I am nearly 72 years old. But if you are going to visit Northern Ireland put the An Caislean guest house top of your list. You won't be disappointed.

We stayed for one night during the annual Lammas fair. Knowing that this B&B would be running at max capacity, we were prepared to accept a few shortcomings here and there.
Having read some negative older reviews, we set our expectations - wrongly as it happened. We were pleasantly surprised. It is run as a well oiled machine. On their own initiative, the hosts telephoned us with directions before we arrived knowing that we would probably have difficulty accessing the parking area due to the fair. We really appreciated that thoughtfulness.
Our room was clean, warm and roomy. Not all rooms were en-suite which was a new experience, but that worked out fine. We never encountered a bathroom deficit situation, but the potential for this to happen would be my only reservation - but I knew this when I booked. The furnishings were in keeping with the grand old family house that we stayed in. The hosts were lovely. They found time to talk to us and other guests. I think that the fact that quite a few guests were repeat visitors speaks volumes. It had a relaxed atmosphere and we only saw happy guests. We stayed in a few other hotels and B&Bs is the same week and none offered that personal but unobtrusive touch.
It is a really good base for a few days touring the North coast of Ireland. Would I recommend it? h'undoubtedly!
