“Great stay at the Carnately Lodge”
Reviewed May 26, 2013

We were looking for a place to stay and saw the lodge. It looked nice from the road so we stopped in to find out if they could accommodate us for the night. What a pleasant surprise. The owners were very friendly and the lodge was very comfortable and spotless. Our room was on the first floor and offered a queen sized bed. We took advantage of the Irish-style breakfast in the morning and were on our way. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would certainly stay at the Carnately Lodge again if we were in Northern Ireland

Room Tip: The lodge does not accept credit cards.

From the moment you enter this beautiful B&B you know you are on Holiday. Our room was so beautiful and the bed was the comfiest we have ever known!! (we wanted to take it with us !!) The furniture was to a high standard and the bathroom was clean and spacious with a lovely shower. The B&B itself is set in a wonderfully scenic location just outside of Ballycastle, and very local to all of the best sightseeing places to visit, but Colette and Bert are by far the best thing about this place. They welcome you into their home with open arms, they cook the best and biggest breakfast you can imagine, with no shortage of coffee or toast. They will accomodate anyone, and are very happy to help, (even hang up your very wet things after a soaking at the Northwest 200;-) ) I do truly miss them already and cant wait to book our next trip to see them and their beautiful country.

Room Tip: Room 4 is very special great for Couples, Honeymooners,

Stayed here 2 nights for the North West 200 from when we arrived till we left Colette and Bert could not be more helpful. The accommodation was fantastic and even had garage space for our motorbikes. The full Irish breakfast is not to be missed (you don't need lunch). We will be going back for sure.

stayed one-night in early May - and already planning a return visit. lots to see and do along beautiful Antrim Coast. lovely, peaceful, serene location just outside small village center of Ballycastle, where we enjoyed a spectacular seafood dinner at Diamond Bar, as recommended by our lovely hostess Colette and husband Bart. they were so very helpful w/everything and could not have been nicer! invited us to visit w/them in TV room, enjoyed a bottle (or 2) of wonderful red wine and great conversation before retiring for the night in sparkling clean and lovely-appointed room, extremely comfortable bed, large, bright, private bath. they provided anything and everything we asked for - and more!

woke up to a beautiful sunny, although bit chilly morning, dew on grass and bright sunshine only added to lovely, peaceful, serene setting. coffee and juice offered immediately, followed by complete and delicious, full Irish breakfast of salmon and freshest eggs we've ever eaten! (free-range chickens in field across the road, down long driveway - chickens and sheep grazing there -adding further to the lovely, country morning! great way to start a day!! again, enjoyed lovely company of our host and hostess, as well as very interesting other guests, enjoying same.

can't thank Colette and Bart enough - except to say, we will most definitely return - and next time, plan for longer stay. please go and enjoy!

Room Tip: we were in first floor, large room - wonderful! (did not see any other bedrooms)

This is perhaps, one of the best B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland. The owner, Colette Klein is friendly and helpful. She greeted us warmly and invited us to chat for a few minutes giving us a quick overview of the area, then recommended a few excellent restaurants in the area.
We were very generously offered an upgraded room at no charge. The room was very large and nicely furnished, and exceptionally clean (spotless!).
After returning from dinner, Colette and her husband Burt invited us for tea and pie where we engaged in very stimulating discussion of Ireland's history.
This is an excellent stop on the way to Giant's Causeway --- the geological formation found on the album cover of Led Zepplin's "Houses of the Holy" and a "must see" for anyone visiting Ireland.
We had a "Full Irish Breakfast" cooked to order with plenty of tea and fruit. The food was fresh and delicious.
I would highly recommend this B&B to all types of travelers.

Room Tip: We stayed on the ground floor and the room was great. Don't know about the upper rooms, but hav...

Excelent hostel!! The owners are very kind and welcoming! It's located at the edge of the city. The room was very clean, confortable and beautifull. The shower was superb with hot water all day! The breakfast - tradittional ireland - was perfect. I would definitely return! I was sad I stayed only one night. 5 stars!

Room Tip: I have no tips, but I think there will be no problem with all rooms.

On my recent trip around Wales & Ireland, this B+B was by far the best all round. It is rated 5 star and is definitely worthy of that rating. The host and hostess were super friendly and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and the food superb. It's a little way out of town, but only a short drive.
