Check ahead if the Waterfall Trail has reopened before you go. It was closed for repairs when we visited in July. It is a nice place to have a picnic or take a walk in the woods, but don't expect anything spectacular. There are toilets available and a cafe with plenty of picnic tables outside overlooking green hills. But it's really not worth spending 4.50 on parking, atleast not until the waterfall trail reopens.

We went as a group f 7 after staying in the camping site. We paid £13.50 to stay in the camp and for free entry for both our cars into the park. The campsite is great, the ranger was really friendly and the toilets were very clean. Make sure to bring bug spray as there are a lot of midges but its a forest and to be expected. The ladies in the cafe were really helpful and made us 7 frys and even catered to personal preferences. The ladies were really helpful and couldn't be friendlier.
Make sure to ring ahead though as the waterfall walks were closed when we we there. Still a beautiful view and you can see one of the waterfalls. Definitely a place for walkers.

Arriving at the entrance to the park there are no signs telling you that the waterfalls & the majority of the walks are closed. You pay £4.50 at the pay and display for the car park then walk to the entrance to the falls only to read that they are closed. There are no visible staff in the area to speak to. The walk down is v long & steep to a smallish waterfall and nothing else. The Lara Lodge restaurant & gift shop (in a locked portacabin) looked tardy & didn't allow picnics in the area. After the walk back up the hill to the car park we opened our picnic in a picnic area at a picnic table. But then noticed the sign "only food bought at the cafe to be consumed at these tables" so we moved to tables further away. All in all a waste of a trip and £4.50. The other reviews on here about the lovely long walks and waterfalls seem v odd as the waterfalls aren't accessible & haven't been for sometime. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend this to anyone as a place to visit. Money & time would be better spent on the coast road to free places like Ballintoy harbour.

Glenariff forest park is an area of natural beauty with long walks and the waterfalls are stunning . There are places to eat within the park but to appreciate the full beauty of nature a picnic is best. The waterfalls are at their best after heavy rain. I would recommend as a restful day out good for all ages.

Situated in the glens of Antrim ( which is stunning, with the coastal route ) there are 4 trails in the park ( some short & some long ) but the views are amazing, the waterfall walk trail was my favourite, a good day out ( bring a picnic)
