“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Read about this place before going to Belfast so was so pleased to find it on our door step when we arrived.

A couple of bad points first - the size. It is very small and so on a Friday and Sat pm it can get very cramped but I loved it for this. You get talking to people when you have to get passed or when you are stood together to let others pass. It makes you make friends and we met some great people (nobody is bothered about it either as it is expected due to the size).

Only other point is the prices - they can be abit steep. Paid £14 for two G&T's but I have paid more in London so people who moan about this need to realise they are in a major city (I have paid $78 for two drinks in Beverly Hills before).

Now the good - the size (see above), the people, the atmosphere, the food (eat during the day and go up stairs to what has to be the most religious restaurant I have ever been in. The food is to die for though and well worth it) and finally the location.

YOU HAVE TO GO WHEN YOU VISIT BELFAST.

“Initimite”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

Wonderful initimate bar for a group of friends, however bear in mind whole group could outfill the bar, also had tapas with drinks when there and they were excellent and of wonderful standard. Excellent spot for a cosy drink.

“Loved this bar!”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

We stumbled across this bar by accident, and instantly loved it. It was a small, lively cool bar with a great atmosphere. The only one downside was a high price of the drinks - it was about £12/13 for two rum and lemonades. As long as you dont drink them too quickly its worth a visit! Great music too.

“Twenty two pounds and twenty pence for a bottle of Wine!”
Reviewed March 17, 2013

Four ladies of a certain age, out exploring the Cathedrale Quarter for the first time. So impressed!! fabulous afternoons crack and so we decide to split a bottle of wine .We actually had looked into quite a few bars but were scared that some of the obvious ones might prove a bit expensive so we chose the Spanird in the hope we could also order a few tapas as we were starving. The bar tender agreed that rather than ordering 4 glasse of wine ,a bottle would be a better bet so you can imagine our reaction when our friend who has never been to Belfast before came back and announced that she had been stung for £22.20. When we asked if we could order a few nibbles we were told that food was only served upstairs, however there were two men sitting next to us getting stuck into chicken wings??? because of the shape of the bar we had to sit in a row up against the wall and the music was really loud and we could hardly hear each other speak! So so disapointing, left a really bad taste, we had been going to visit at least one more bar but to be honest we just went home. Nobody can afford those prices.
