A short walk from town centre and the university quarter, Gingeroot was very busy the (Friday) night we went there. We got a table by the window, which offers a scenic view of the street and was lighter than the rest of the restaurant. The food quality was good and the portion size was reasonable. The prices were as expected for this region of Europe but still not overly dear for what we ate. Appeared to be very popular with locals and several tables had romantic couples and groups of mature students chatting over a hearty meal. The older staff appeared to be in charge and checked on several occasions that we were happy & that the food was OK/enough. The traditional Indian style food beat any I'd had in London (which is often sadly westernised for British tastes).
