I did this tour with a friend and found it a brilliant experience. Prior to the tour there is a building where there is a small collection of artefacts relating to the gaol. It was informative and killed time whilst waiting for the tour.
Our tour guide, Gary collected us at 12 and took us outside to give an overview of the prison and the tour.
We were taken through the prison to various locations including the original reception, holding cells, the tunnel connecting to the court, one of the wings which included the execution room and the graveyard.
The information provided by the tour guide was clear and informative. He was clearly knowledgable on the subject and displayed a good level of enthusiasm.
All in all in was a great tour. The only thing I would advise future visitors of his there is quite a graphic description of the execution, brief but might not be best for young ears!
