“A classic and a must see in Belfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

This is a classic pub and has a fantastic history. The fittings are extemely old and very authentic. There is a very good post work clientele but also a huge tourist footfall (taking endless photo's). The small compartments around the pub (snugs) are extremely quaint and a real blast from the past - and feature in many Northern Ireland pubs so well worth looking out for. My only complaint is the 11 o'clock closing time (for which staff seem to prepare from 10.30 onwards) and vociferour way in which drinkers are invited to leave. Still, there's always Robinsons right next door and they have more sensible closing times.

“worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

been many time to this bar when in Belfast and I love the fact it never changes always the same wooden booths and its got a good pub atmosphere with no televisions or awful jukebox blasting noise!! it has some descent local beer on tap and yes its not the cheapest bar but just pop in for a pint and watch all the tourists coming in for photos and you feel like your in a special place. a must visit for anyone who appreciates a good pub.

“When in Belfast, A MUST DO visit!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 25, 2013

Any tourist has to go here, its a must on a visit to Belfast! The place is magnificently preserved as aold prespatarian bar, little snugs to sit in and the decor is fabulous. Guinness is good too but a little pricey, okay for a couple!

“Great beers on tap”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2013

I loved the charm of the Crown and the old fashioned booths that separated the women from the men. I thinks it's the first saloon in Belfast. The decor is beautiful! Good times! I did not eat here though I really wanted to~everything I saw smelled and looked amazing. My group wanted to go to another restaurant that they had already picked out but the food there wasn't nearly as appealing as the Crown's!

“You've just got to go.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013

Yes its well renowned, but for a reason. Yes, it's quaint, no the bar tenders aren't unfriendly. It's a pub. The amount of pekoe who just walk through and take pictures is ridiculous.

Prices aren't bad folks. All pubs are on their knees in the UK. No the wonder so many are closing. If I owned this place I'd charge a £ a pee.
