Absolutely wonderful tour. It was pouring down all day, but Robbie, our guide, helped us to forget the rain by being so interesting and funny. He was an extra on GOT and 'died' 7 times! We had a great meal at the Cuan (not included in the price, but still well worth it), saw the actual direwolves, met a couple of extra extras from GOT and all in all had a wonderful day. I have to say again, Robbie was fantastic. Thanks Robbie for a great day!

Hi Brian,

Delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour even though you had to slosh around to each of the locations in the rain!! #thenorthremembers!

Overall, the Winterfell tour was a pretty good trip. The first half was a bit disappointing after seeing just how much cgi was used to create Winterfell and the Twins. Things picked up after lunch when we got to meet the two werewolves and visited Inch Abbey and the Haunted Forest. Our tour guide, Thorn, was insightful and outgoing, and I definitely recommend him to anyone looking to take this tour.

Please be aware as this tour is NOT for people who are out of shape!

Hey madprofessor,

Thanks for writing your review. You didn't really think that Winterfell Castle was real did you? ;-)
Delighted to hear things picked up for you after lunch and you enjoyed Thorn's insights in to Game of Thrones.

There are several tour companies that offer GOT tours. We decided to use the Game of Thrones tours because they seemed to have the best reviews, and the tour hosts are cast members from the show.
Our Northern tour included the Iron Islands, Rope Bridge, and the Giant Causeway. The guide/ cast member on our tour was Brian.
Brian was entertaining and shared interesting stories about His GOT experiences, and the locations we visited. In between the stops, he showed us some GOT videos on the bus that we’re shot at upcoming locations were visiting. At each stop, Brian then showed us stills from the GOT series so you could see how the location looked on the series.
As you can imagine, there is quite a bit of walking on the tour. Where comfortable clothes and shoes—-
A thoroughly enjoyable tour!

Took this tour with two girlfriends and we had a blast. Not only did we learn about the sets, make up and extras of Game of Thrones, and how it was filmed. We also spent a lovely day in the Irish countryside.
