“No frills, reasonable value”
Reviewed September 13, 2009

My husband, 5-month old and I spent two nights here before heading off to explore Northern Ireland. We booked an excellent rate online (45 pounds/night). Due to a problem with our train (bridge out) we had to cancel the first night (of 3) and thus only stayed 2 nights; we were charged the rack rate of 60 pounds sterling/night since we had cancelled our first night (even though we had done so early in the day and had not been informed that there would be a rate change). When we questioned this we were basically told "too bad". The room was clean with minimal amenities and at 45 pounds would have been a very good deal; at 60 it was a little overpriced. Location reasonable, a 10-15 minute walk to the waterfront and shopping. The neighbourhood was quiet, dark and a little dodgy after sunset. Overall, a very reasonable base for exploring Belfast with very pleasant desk staff.

Having stayed at a number of hotels in Belfast 10 in the last year I must write and recommend this one. Excellent staff from check in to resturant and excellent value. paid £79 for dinner, bed and breakfast. Food was really good, rooms somewhat basic but no issue - hotel so central only 3 mins from my office - will defintely stay here again.

Having stayed at various Premier Inn's throughout the UK, I knew exactly what to expect when I booked the Premier Inn in Belfast's Alfred Street; reasonable prices, nice bed, simple and affordable comfort. I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed! In fact, this is one of the nicest Premier Inn's I have stayed at.
We (group of 6, 3 couples) arrived late Friday night, sometime around 10pm. We were checked in quickly and efficiently and given rooms on the same floor.
The rooms were all well appointed and clean, with flat screen TV's and a bed so comfortable you'd think you were staying somewhere more expensive!
The location is good; it's a 5 min walk to Donegal Sq and the Belfast Town Hall, which then provides easy access to the Victoria Square shopping complex and the HIgh Street.
Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, and the £2.95 'express breakfast' option (croissant & spreads and a cup of coffee) was good value.
I plan to return to Belfast, and would choose the Premier Inn again!

We stayed at the Premier Inn on July 13/09 and have mixed feelings. We were impressed that the staff at the hotel tried so hard to accommodate. They were very friendly and helpful. On the other hand, and this is something very difficult for the hotel to control or to change, many guests staying on our floor were quite noisy until late at night. We'd booked two rooms and my suggestion would be to try to book a room down the hall and away from the doors that connect the hallways to the elevator foyers. One of the rooms we booked was right next to this connecting door and it was slamming shut constantly through the night. The other room, further down the hallway, was a little quieter. That said, the rooms were clean and well-supplied and the beds were comfortable. Because we were on one of the lower floors above an area where smokers congregated, when we opened our window, we got wafts of smoke coming into the room. If I were to book a room at this hotel again, I'd book on one of the higher floors.

Breakfast was very good. We saw fresh FRUIT for the first time in a long time.

Parking was free but I think that might have been because it was a holiday weekend. We were able to find street parking right outside the front door. Location was good, only a few blocks from central Belfast, awesome shopping and the Belfast Tourist Office. Overall, other than the noise and smoke, we had a good experience.

Stayed there overnight on our way back from North Antrim to Kildare last weekend. Location was great in the centre of Belfast and yet quiet. Room was perfect for two adults and 1 teenager. Price was very reasonable, cheaper than most B&B and food was great. Rooms were clean, fresh and quiet. Staff were excellent and friendly, especially Sarah and Marcel on the front desk. Ideal place for a short overnight or weekend stay

The Premier Inn Belfast on Alfred Street is in the perfect location for a visit to belfast. You are less than a minute walk to the city center, five minutes to Dublin Road and 10 minutes to the river. As long as you know what to expect, the hotel itself is very nice. I would term this upscale budget. You are not at a Marriott or a Hyatt. We had a family room, a queen bed, a single and a pull out bed from under the single. The room was not large, but I would say average size for Europe. The service was excellent. If I called for extra towels or pillows someone would appear with them in less than five minutes. The hotel restaurant is good, but I would recommend the Bridge House on Dublin Road just five or six blocks away as a better choice.
